New owner/morph question

Hey there.
I’m a newer owner, having my corn snake Sorin for a little over 4 months now. He’s extremely easy going, loves to climb me like a tree, eats and sheds perfectly, etc.
I was just trying to specifically figure out what his morph really is.
His mother was a rescue at the pet store (not a Petco/Petsmart) but a local store specializing in reptiles, arachnids, and all the creepy crawlies) and the identified her as either a creamsicle or a sunglow.
I never saw his father personally or even a picture of him, but he was supposed to having “exciting” het genes.
The first 1/3 of his body has some bright orange which fades into your more classic het coloring I would guess.
Based on his coloring, does anyone have a more definitive guess?

He looks like a normal from this picture. Most corn snake genes are recessive, which means they need two copies of the gene for it be visible. So if the father had lots of hets, that means that your baby could be carrying some interesting genetics, but they won't change his appearance. If you wanted to figure out what genes (if any) he's carrying, you would need to breed him, ideally to a female (or multiple females) who are homozygous for a lot of genes. If the mother was a Creamsicle or sunglow, then he's at least het amel from her.

I’ve read up some on snake genetics and in theory I understand how they work, but I know it’s more complex when trying to get specific morphs.

Is the orange coloring in him and the way it gradually fades out a regular corn snake color pattern or something to do with his gentics?

Most corn morphs have more intense coloration at the head end that fades toward the tail end. And his color will most likely change quite a bit as he grows up. This picture makes him look more like a hypo. Would love to see a belly picture.

Yeah, I was told his color would change as he got older, and that he’s one of the brighter ones of his clutch.
He’s about 9 months old and had just shed right before I got him, so he’s only had 3 sheds with me, his 3rd being 2 days ago.
That picture was half a day or so after shedding.

Very nice! He looks like a masque to me, actually.

I’ve never heard of that, but I googled and found it’s a dominant gene.
The broken up patterns and color variation makes sense now.
What would I call his morph if explaining it to someone? I thought it was the basic creamsicle/het morph.
