Post Graveyard Garter

Does anyone else find that cemeteries are a great place to find herps? Saw a huge common garter in my local cemetery, quite fat. It lives in a hole in the ground right behind a grave stone. I sometimes walk through the cemetery and when I find it out and approach, it heads for cover beneath the flowers on said grave.

What would it eat there besides nightcrawlers?

Going to try and get a photo if I see it again. I haven't seen a garter that big in some time.

Yes! Where I grew up, our house sat right at the perimeter of a cemetery. We used to climb the fence, and go exploring all the time. (We only got busted twice, which is amazing, considering how many times we did it!)

We used to find huge garters in there. There were a lot of toads too, so I'm guessing that's what they were feeding on.
