Males can certainly and succesfully breed as many as 5 females in a given season, BUT the breedings must be monitored closely.

OK, I am thinking about basic biology here, not because I have a practical need for this info but for curiosity. How many females can 1 optimally healthy male corn snake successfully be bred with in one season?

To use 1 male on multipple females you need to monitor the breedeings very closely. You can't leave him in with her for long periods. PLace the male in and immediately after they seperate, remove him from her cage (or her from his, which ever). If you leave them unsuppervised they will likely copulate several times. You can possibly get more than 5 bred, but the succes rate will decrease with the increase of breedings. So, pick the best 5 girls first, then concentrate on the others. Another item to watch when attempting multiple breedings is the temps. Make sure there are no high temperature spikes that will kill the sperm and make multiple attempts unsuccesful.
