Missy
loves her little darlings
hello all
well now i took my skitzy to see the vet this evening, and it was not good news for me im afraid, he said that the signs (her bottom half is fat, the bulge under her neck, drinking a lot more) are all the same signs as when my missy eventually had to be put to sleep as she had kidney disease, for those of you who didnt read about my missy, you can here ~
all about my ultimate darling, Missy
its not a certain prognosis, but he thinks its kidney failure again, he is gonna contact me in a couple of days to get skitzy in for a blood test and hopefully that will tell us whether or not she has kidney problems, if not then they are gonna have to open her up and take a look at her kidneys to take a biopsy.
if this is the case i am soo not gonna be able to cope with this very well at all, am in complete panic about my other 3 now, the vet said they do not know why snakes get kidney disease but what they do know is its way more common in captive snakes than wild snakes for some reason, he said it was something to do with their enclousures people keep them in, he said hes had 3 other snakes brought in to him with kidney problems so im gonna go up to my local reptile place where i get all my rodents and equipment and ask a million and one questions. well when i say local its about a 40 min drive there but thats the closet place.
i am so gutted, so many things are going through my head now, am i doing something wrong? am i feeding them dodgy mice? are they missing something i am not supplying them? i feel so helpless, i had to watch my missy deteriate for 5 months and i really really hope i dont have to watch skitzy go throught he same thing, missy only went lasy july, i swear i still grieve for her, i cant be losing another one already! oh my goodness, i apologize for rambling on, i just dont know what to do, im panicking and im in despair, ahhhhhhhh!
what could i be doing wrong to lose such a precious girl and now another one could lose her life?
they are my complete and utter pride and joy for sure.
