The Rule Of Thirds.
....but then again, aren't they all?

Anyway, one of the other non-corn-related sites where I hang out is Worth1000; it's basically a "let's get as creative as we can with Photoshop" forum that has friendly competitions based on themes such as "What if Manga characters were actually alive?" and "What's the cover art for the worst album ever?"......it's a good way to foster the creative capabilities in all of its participants.

And yesterday, on my 18th try, and out of 77 entries, I won a contest. Yay!

The theme was "Create a mythical animal out of at least three, but no more than four, actual living animals."

So Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you The Mandrilladilloalo.

Way cool Jazz!

I'd like to one day learn how to manipulate images like that. Again, way cool Jazz!

Those are disturbing! Congratulations! You picked the animals by name first- didn't you??!!

And thanks for getting me hooked on Worth 1000. I only enter the photo contests. In the first one I did ok, and in the second one, they HATED it. Now I'm on the third.

I never learned Photoshop well enough to be competitive.

I like the Mantsnakeron too.

Jazz,

You need to stop those wild nights out on the town, although your dates seem to be getting cuter..:sidestep:

Great job! Congratulations!

That's just distrubing, but in a good way. I think I'm gonna have nightmares now, lol. Congrats on the win!

Congrats Dale! I'm with Duff on this one; that's a disturbing creature-- but cool.

Lenny & Susan: That $%^& ain't funny! (Well, maybe it's a little funny...) ;)

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

(*points to temple*) You should see what it's like in here. ;)

Heh, well....almost. I knew I wanted the head of a mandrill, but was searching for what to match it up with....until I saw the photo of the armadillo, whose head shape was so close to the mandrill's, that it was an easy match....the arduous part was the blending of hair/fur.

So what to do with the third animal? That's where the name came in. I was hoping to first make a "Frilled Mandrilladillo", but every Frilled Dragon match made it look like it was wearing a flat Elizabethan collar. Scrap that idea.

It then occured to me that putting on buffalo horns would make it look more "beastly", and the extra "beat" needed to pronounce "Mandrilladillo....alo" was in itself a hoot.

And thanks for getting me hooked on Worth 1000. I only enter the photo contests. In the first one I did ok, and in the second one, they HATED it. Now I'm on the third.
It's almost as addicting as corns...and the only thing that needs to be fed is your creativity. ;) It's a fun site, and I'm thinking about entering some of the writing contests; I've been told I can turn the occasional phrase.

Post links to your photo entries sometime!

I like the Mantsnakeron too.
Outside of my entry, THAT was my favorite as well.

Danny, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

They may be getting cuter, but they're still heavily armored. :sidestep:
