Jessicat
All Pied Everything
This little guy is het Charcoal and Motley.
I originally had a pair of these. I decided to get two that looked very different from each other so I could see the variation between them as they got older. I'll admit that I preferred the female's pattern to the male. She had thicker darker borders with more drastic coloration. Well, shamefully enough, both of my pair escaped. I'd been checking on the girl nearly every day (besides in between feeding), so it was especially heart breaking to come home from school one day to an empty tub. The male escaped later on.
I found the male on my bathroom floor at night. I never found the girl, and eventually had to give up on her because I moved from the place where she had escaped. I was somewhat resentful that I had found the male and not the female. I know this doesn't really make sense, because the male could be more "useful" to me, but I really had loved that female. I tossed around a few name ideas, but never settled on something.
Yesterday was the first time I looked at this boy and really though to myself, "wow"! Perhaps it was the sunlight, I did everything (feeding, cleaning) outside yesterday.
I wish this guy's borders were larger, that's what I liked about his sister. I suppose partnering him with my RO Cottonmouth might help that a bit.
So here he is, fresh shed, and "deserving" of a name.
