2 snakes 1 feeding Bin

I now have 2 snakes, YAY! but the question I have is I have 1 feeding bin.. can I feed the both of them in it.. I know not at the same time.. But seperately.. Feed one then the other after.. Is that ok or should I get something else to feed the new baby in..

You should be fine with just the one bin. I recently purchased a few more for my growing collection, because I like to feed them all at once 'cause it's faster.

Aye, I also feed mine in only one bin.
I have two just in case one of the snakes gets sick because then you don't want the sick one anywhere near the other. Unfortunately both of mine are in use right now, as I have a pewter with an URI and is in the process of going through treatment for it. I would not like to find out if it is contagious!

The problem is you want to isolate your new snake from the first snake, ideally for 90 days. This means always handle the new snake last, keep in separate rooms if at all possible, GOOD handwashing after handling both, etc. You can buy a pack of small Gladwares to use as feeding bins, and punch air holes with a paper punch.

Thanks Nanci I forgot bout that.. I knew bout quarantine but for some reason I didnt think bout that.. thanks for saving my butt LoL

Yup, once quarantine is over, using a feeding tub for multiple snakes is fine. I have four feeding tanks and 14 snakes. Quick wipe down after each use and regular disinfection keeps them fresh.

Be very careful- feeding bin escapes are very common. You think they're secure, and they aren't.

aww crap u got me scared now Nanci.. LoL.. I will defiantely see bout getting him another lil bin or something..

I confess to using non-escape proof feeding containers on a regular basis. I sell Avon, so I have a lot of boxes around. I often feed mine in a newspaper lined box. The obvious caveat to this method is that I NEVER TURN MY BACK while feeding them in these.

Aye, I also use just regular open sweater boxes but I am with them constantly while they are eating. It might sound strange but I find that feeding my snakes is very relaxing after a long day of work. I usually sit down to something interesting on TV and feed them one at a time.

Some of mine have the habit of backing up and over the side of open containers, so that wouldn't be relaxing for me!

LoL, I've got one snake that does that no matter what. For most of them though, what works (at least for me) is- I keep a clean hand towel in the bottom so that they can use the coarse frictional surface of the towel to brace themselves when they are eating. They REALLY seem to like the hand towel, I use to use paper towels but they would just slide around with the larger snakes but every one of them has taken a liking to the hand towel.

Yea my Whiskey has a tendency of throwing himself out the box.. But my friends 2 dont she feeds them in shoe boxes an has no problem with them.. Whiskey is just a pain..

10 feeding bins and 86 snakes.. with relatively secure closing lids..
Feeding days are to busy to watch them, gotta keep moving
or it takes forever..
I have 4 & 6 qts for little ones, 16 & 28 qts for larger ones.
Swab them out in between each use.
Gladware is great for temporary use for the wee ones
