2000 Miami

Down with the sickness
This guy will have his frist breeding season next year. I hope he has lots of love to share. I found out that I get better pics after wetting down the cobblestone. Of course, it took a photo subject to poop everywhere before I figured that out. I hosed everything off and kept taking pics, it turned out pretty good.

I wish you lived closer to So. Cal. I have this female to breed in '03 with no male for her :(

Hey Dartguy

Hee Hee, I picked up a yearling male that is Miami looking, but the guy that I got him from didn't know much about his lineage. The snake is just gorgeous-hopefully I will have pics of him soon. His background is a silver/tan and his saddles are a gorgeous red/brown. The contrast is stunning.

Possibly he could "visit" your girl when she's ready. Or, if you decide not to persue the Miami phase breeding, maybe she could come live at my house and a couple of mine could go to yours? I have a Miami yearling female coming either the end of the week or early next week. This is by far my favorite strain.

Cheers, Mare

actually I was thinking the same thing - maybe my miami female needs to be intorduced to your male - she will be ready to breed next year :D

I am sure...

That he'd be happy to oblige! Keep track of my email address. I tend to get busy at times and drop off the forums for long periods of time so if you don't see me on the forums, that doesn't mean I've dropped off the face of the earth LOL!

At any rate, we should try to hook up sometime before then and compare critters. Sounds like we both have quite a little collection. I am thinking of letting go of my Amel het Sunglow Motley female and my candy cane male because I am not that interested the whole amel complex but am really into the Hypo and Miami phases... Oh well. So many decisions!:p

Actually Candy Cane is a Miami phase and unless Dartguy's Miami is het amel, he'd get all Miamis if he bred your Candy Cane to her as well. If she is het for amel, you'd get 50% Candy Canes and 50% Miamis. Just thought you'd like to know another possibility. :D Where did you get your Candy Cane?

Forgive me if I'm wrong but...

I believe that Candy Canes are amels that have been line bred to have a large amount of white surrounding the saddles. Some breeders have introduced the Miami phase into the mix to clean up the background color; in essence, a Candy Cane in some instances is an Amelanistic Miami Phase... but is amelanistic none the less :)

I love all my snakeys, it's just that as far as breeding goes, I am not as interested in the different expressions of Amelanism as I am on some of the others.

You are right, though, in that he could hook his Miami female up with me Candy Cane male. If his female is het amel, he could end up with some even cleaner CCs...

Now, when it comes to some of those other mixes you folks have going on out there... geez, talk about complicated!

Yeah Mare - I feel fairly intelligent  but it boggles my mind to try and figure out some of the genetics used to create stuff - of course I've been away from reptiles for a while and when I had my last snake, snows were the coolest thing around (I thought)
