In my state the newspaper has a pet calendar contest each year. In years past you had to pay a fee of $25 to enter and pay 25c to vote. So there were never really a lot of pets to choose from. Well this year the entry is free but you still have to pay 25c a vote. It's to raise money for local animal shelters and I think some of the money goes to providing newspapers to schools.
This year I entered my snake, Sylvara. She is the only snake. She is also the only reptile. But so far she has 500 votes and is in the lead. You have to pay $5 at voting and that counts for 20 votes.
