2014 Season

Crazy Colubrids

So Addicted
Thought I would share how my season has been so far. Its been a very interesting season for me. I have hatched out a few first here, proved out some hets and discovered some hidden hets. All in all its been a great year. A lot of the pics are before the first sheds.

First clutch to hatch was from a Stripe het Ghost X Cinder het Hypo. I wasn't expecting anything but Normals from this clutch. That is until I seen this little Hypo. Turns out my Male Cinder was het for Hypo. He is a 2012 from Steve Roylance. I'm still hoping there are a few more hets in there to prove out. The clutch only contained 7 fertile eggs out of 18.

The next clutch to hatch was from a Amber Stripe het Amel X Honey het Amel, Motley. This clutch was a huge surprise to me. I was only expecting Caramels. When I seen a Caramel Motley and Butter Motley I was stoked! My Female Amber Stripe and Male Honey proved het Amel. The Honey also happened to be het Motley. I couldn't be more happy with the results.

Had another surprise with this next clutch from a Amel het Hypo, Lavender, Motley(maybe stripe) X Honey het Amel, Motley. Again I was expecting all Normals. That was until I had seen the results of the last clutch and knew I could get some Amels. But another het popped up. My Amel proved het Motley(or Stripe).

Next clutch to hatch was from a Snow X Tessera het Amel, Stripe ph Anery. Nothing that I wasn't expecting from this clutch. Normals, Amels, Tesseras, and Amel Tesseras. No Anery or Snows. Guess the Tessera is not het Anery.

This next clutch was also interesting although I would have like some more of the possible hets to prove out. The pairing was Normal het Diffused ph Amel, Charcoal X Charcoal het Diffused, Amel or Ultra. This pairing officially proved my Male Charcoal het Amel not Ultra and my Normal was also het Amel. No Charcoals unfortunately.

This next clutch is one of my favorites. I have a couple interesting projects lined up with some of the hatchlings. The pairing was Ultramel het Charcoal X Charcoal het Amel, Diffused. I got a little of everything in this clutch. Can't wait to get my Ultramel Pewter next season.

I was really excited about this next clutch. Fire Stripe X Fire Motley het Stripe. I was not expecting any Motleys in the clutch but the male Fire was sold to me as being possibly homo Motley. Either way the babies are gorgeous.

Next clutch isn't anything amazing but I like Butter Motleys and Caramel Motleys. Butter Motley X Caramel Stripe het Amel.

Last clutch was from a Diffused het Anery X Tessera het Amel, Stripe ph Anery clutch. The outcome was a little surprising. This male Tessera was bred to a Snow this year and was also bred to a Snow Stripe last year. No Anery babies in both clutches. I assumed he must not be het Anery since the odds of getting an Anery in those clutches were good or at least just as good as getting Amels. Well I guess I was wrong.

That wasn't all. My Diffused and My Tessera proved out het Hypo. Unfortunately this little Hypo was DIE.

There was also this little Ghost het Diffused ph Amel, Stripe. I wasn't lucky enough to hit the Hypo, Anery or Ghost Tesseras, this year anyway. There were 4 eggs that went bad half way through incubation. I can only guess what could have been in them.

And of course there was Tesseras.

Only 2 more clutches to hatch. One from a Butter X Tessera het Amel, Anery, Hypo, Stripe and the other from a Snow Stripe X Ghost Stripe. They are due to hatch any day now.

The last 2 clutches of the season have started hatching. First one is from Snow Stripe X Ghost Stripe and the second clutch is from Butter X Tessera het Hypo, Amel, Anery, Stripe.
