This is Oscar and Ivy, the happy couple. Ivy's gone blue and Oscar has just shed, and it's huge!! We watched him slithering out of his skin and it was fascinating. It was good shed too, with some pigment left on it. You can see his blotches on it, and his face was freckly. We measure it, and he's 6ft 4 inches!!

While that's a big snake, sheds can be 10% longer than the actual snake, if not even longer. I highly doubt your snake is 6'.
 
I know the skins can stretch, and we took this into account. The measurement was 76 inches. We think that makes him a good 6ft long. We have tried measuring him but he wriggles a lot, but it's still roughly that length.
 
wow that is a huge snake, if i saw him going down the steps then i would sure move out of the way! :)
 
WOW, that's pretty impressive! The one on the stairs really helps to give scale to his size!!!good job!:)
 
No just over 5' skins stretch up to 30%, but we'll say 20%. Judging from the pic of skin on tiles 20 tiles x 4"=80 x 80% = 64" which is 5'3". The measuring tape on the stairs, if you count the stairs in both pics puts the snake just over 5'. He is a beauty however.

Yep what she said...and I have read in one of the care books that it can be up to as much as 40%...although any way you measure it he is a great looking snake:)
 
Oh come on guys why are you being persnickety? The lass has a gorgeous big corn and thats all there is to it.

The world doesn't grind to a hault because someone makes a mistake in thinking their corn snake is over 6ft. I understand some like to burst bubbles though...
