91 grams in 30 days ?

Just weighed my corn and he went from 114g to 205g in 30 days. He/she is approx. 1yr and 2 months of age. I had noticed some growth but wasn't expecting that much of a weight gain in such a short time frame. Are most corns gaining weight at this incredible pace when they're at this age ?

lol, as above... that was my initial theory too.
I have had some yearlings put on some good weight in the last month or two.. some have doubled in roughly that time, which is amazing really as they are not getting any extra food.

I weigh my corn just prior to feeding and it's been pooing regularly after eating without missing a beat , for 2 months at least.

It has bulked up in the last month , but to find out it's almost doubled it's weight was quite surprising.

Don't have a camera handy. I'll try and borrow one.

In the meantime if anyone could reassure me that this isn't abnormal , I'd appreciate it.

Don't bother ppl. I hadn't realized I had used another rubbermaid to weigh him , one that's pretty much identical to the one I've been using except for a plastic handle.

Doing the math , he's gained 35 grams in that time frame , going from 114gr -> 149gr and not 205 like I thought. 91 grams really did seem like too much.

 Sounds like something that I would do. I'm so very glad that ya solved the mystery. I actually wrote the weights of my bigger babies' identical boxes (except for color) on the handles so that I would reduce the chances of me doing that same thing. I can't believe the weight differences in the boxes...;) is pink really heavier than blue????
We'd still love to see a pic of the darling. :D

lol! i was going to chime in and say wait for a large poo too, but i see you've got all the bases covered. funny about the handle, though!

i had a huge DUUUUUH moment today as well. i was about to throw my accu-temp in the garbage today, as it didn't seem to be reading temps. at all. but before i did i decided to crank the baseboard heat and stick the sensor in to see if it senses such an extreme temp difference. it didn't.

until...i turned the switch from "inside" to "outside!" i guess in my head the sensor WAS inside, because it was in the incubator with the eggs. however the sensor is supposed to read OUTSIDE temps when used for non-reptile things.

LOL.

glad to hear you figured out what was up, and that you don't just have a mutant corn!
