ok, i have 4 baby corns and 2 of them are thriving.... however my baby snow is tiny, only 8 inches. she is approx 3 months old and takes 1 pinkie a week. i have had her for 7 weeks but as of yet she has not shed... should i be concerned???
she has grown from 6g to 8 g while i have had her..

also my butter corn, approx 4 months was doing great until last feed when she regurged 3 days later.. i left her for 10 days before attempting again and she kept down the next 2 feeds.. what concerns me is that she is a little lethargic and her weight has drpooed from 14g to 11g in this time... any suggestions on what to do would be greatly appreciated,

cheers x

Hi There,

Perhaps I can help a bit.

Corns grow at different rates, so I shouldn't be too concerned about your little snow at this stage, especially if she has picked up weight and continues to eat regularly. It can be extremely tricky to tell if snows are going to shed so she may be getting ready to shed fairly soon and you may just not realise it. So far, everything sounds fine though.

About your little butter. A number of things can cause a regurge, but it sounds as if she is back on the right track. Even one regurge can set them back quite a bit and it's not uncommon for them to loose quite a bit of weight. As long as she is eating properly now with no regurges and her temps etc etc are fine, she should be fine, it will take her a while to pick up weight and be back to her old self again.

Personally, I feed my little guys every 5 days. I have found this to work much better, they pick up weight nicely without being over fed and risking regurging.

brilliant, thanks very much. my little snow shed tonight after all the worry!! ill try feeding them every 5 days now too as they were every 8-9 days x ill keep you all updated, thanks again xx

I'm glad to hear your little snow shed! That's great!

Every 5 days really worked out well for my little guys. I am sure it will work out well for yours too. Every 8-9days is a bit too long for a hatchling. I usually feed my adults every 8-9days. :)
