After Feeding

Squirt

New member
So I picked up Squirt from Petco yesterday. Saturdays are when he/she was fed while he/she was there. I went ahead and fed him/her this morning because he/she just kept wondering the tank all day and all night last night so I knew he/she was ready to eat. He/she took the pinkie like a champ and then I carefully placed him/her back in his cage. Should snakes automatically want to layout on the hot side of the tank after feeding or does it just depend on the snake? He/she hung out on top of his/her hide under the light for a short time but now he/she is in the skull that is directly in the middle of the cage. I don't want to bother him/her to make sure digestion is going well but wanted to make sure its ok that he/she isn't hanging out directly on the warm side. I know he/she is ok though because every now and then he/she sticks his/her head out of one the eyes on the skull as if saying hello for a minute.

I'm happy he ate for you. Now leave him strictly alone for the next four days. He will pick the temp he needs.

All snakes are different. They all have their own preferences. My girl doesn't care to lie under her heat lamp like I expected her to. She goes straight back into her hide. No worries, and congrats on your new snake! :) Mine came from Petco as well. You should definitely post some pics!
