Amel Miami and Uncle Candy Cane!

Nanci

Alien Lover
Another entry in my series of adult/hatchling photo shoots. This is the amel Miami Baby P and its uncle, Candy Cane. That's his name, not his phenotype. Candy Cane got his name when he was just a little red nose poking out of a moldy egg. He rapidly proceeded to develop a brilliant yellow background, though, and his saddles changed to bright orange.

Will that happen with the two amel offspring of Candy Cane's brother? We shall see!!

Candy Cane was my first experience with a surprise het. I guess this made him too precious for me to part with! In his brother's clutch, I knew there was theoretically a chance that Milky Milksnake (like the so-inventive names??) was het amel, but I hadn't given it much thought. So when I came home to a tub full 'o hatchlings, with an amel, I thought it must be a fire from the second clutch! Only when an examination of the belly revealed checks did I realize that Milky was het amel.

Uncle Candy Cane never settled down, so I had to just corral him and the baby with one hand and shoot with the other and hope for the best!

Thanks for looking!!

Yes, I hatched him out in 2010. He is Milky Milksnake's brother. He didn't turn out like I expected, but I love how he turned out!!

Update: This baby did stay candy cane, at least up until the point she left home! But I sold her as an amel Miami :)
