New Year's Resolutions for Exotic Pet Owners

I thought this was a good article and so I am passing it along. As pet owners, period, be our pets fish or dogs or hamsters or something a little more unusual, we have to remember that our actions (and inactions) speak for the entire community of pet owners around the globe. I can be as responsible as possible with my burmese python-- all it takes is one moron releasing theirs into a local park to make papers and set into action a course of events that ends in a species ban, affecting all owners.

Please keep this in mind as we come into a new year. Also keep in mind that if we wish to keep our right to own companion animals and care for them as we see fit, we need to unite together against those factions that would see our rights taken away. Factions such as PETA, HSUS and DoA would love nothing more than to see us stripped of our rights to own pets. It is up to every single pet owner to recognize that threat and be as vocal as possible to protect our rights!

Happy New Year to you and your critters!

Excellent! I will use this as a teaching points guideline this year when getting my students ready for having a pet in the classroom...:)

Thank you, and happy new year to you & yours, as well!
