baby corn snake will not eat

I got my baby corn snake at an expo, not the best choice I could have made. I believe the guy I got her from lied about her being a guaranteed eater and probably force fed her before the expo to make it look like she feeds. I have had her for seven weeks and she has expressed no interest in food. I have her in foot by a little less than a foot cage, she has two hides with one both the warm and cold end. The temp is about 84 on the warm side, 78 on the cool side and drops down a bit at night. I have tried feeding her in the cage, in a small container, in a brown paper bag with both frozen and living food. I have also brained and soaked in chicken broth the frozen pinkies. I have tried wiggling it in front of her, she is scared of it. I tried tease feeding her and she didn't seem interested. She seems to be rather thin compared to other baby corn snakes I saw in a locally owned shop. Any ideas?

Just to stop you really quick at the first sentence, most would disagree and say its one of the best choices you could have made.

I'm sure others have some tips to help you out, but the cage sounds kinda small to be accuratley establishing the necessary temp gradient. Can I ask what you're heating it with, how you're measuring it and how you're regulating it?

Also have you tried contacting the breeder?

To be more precise, the cage is 1ft 2in X 8in. I'm using an undertake heater that is covering about 2/5 of the cage. I'm monitoring the temperature with a digital probe and I have some reptile temp control thing so I have the temperature about where I want. As for the breeder, I should have asked him more questions when I got her and I lost his card.

I've tried, as well as lots on this forum, washing the pinky with Ivory soap. You may as a last resort get an anole and take the tip of the tail, or foot and place it in the pinky's mouth. Again, as a last resort. It could be difficult to move from lizard scent to pinky down the road.

Unless you blast your air conditioner I don't think you need any additional heat living in Texas in July. I live in Cleveland and when the temps in the snake room are 78ish I use no additional heat. Just my $.02.

good luck!
