being snakey

Since Zelda is older, I don't have a "progression" thread per se..... but she is so damn cute and snakey that I just have to have an excuse to post pictures of her. After all this cute stuff today, she pulled the snakiest move ever, and pooped on the comforter on hubby's side of the bed RIGHT in front of him :devil01: I couldn't even fib to cover it up.

Good thing she's cute.

What a cutie!!! What is she doing in that last one?? XD

So the first shots are her being a flirt, so of course I get her out to handle, which she then poops on the bed. This last shot is her after being put back in her house AFTER the poop, and she is pretty much zooming around her enclosure like "WTF why you put me back in here?!"

My 3 year old asked me if Zelda was in a time out.... lol

There are times when I know that Zelda enjoys being out of her enclosure, and there are times when I can tell she's not really into being handled at the moment and just wants to be put back. This particular episode of snakeness happened after being put back when she would have rather stayed out a bit longer... She is racing me to the top of the tank as I slide on the lid lol

On a separate note. Is it normal that she loses her pattern about half way down her body? Could that be age related? I just see pictures of snakes of many morphs and colors with pattern to their tail almost every time... she fades out about half way down. I wish I knew what she looked like as a young snake!!!! I hate to think of her "getting old" even though she's only about middle aged now.

yes that's normal.

In fact if you look closely at almost all snakes, the closer you get to the tail the pattern can be lighter, darker, or even totally different.

and by the way, she does have a pretty face. Nothing like the Smile of a Corn snake. I especially like her yellow tinge running around her muzzle.

She's really sweet! Love her coloring.

I love the poop story. Before he escaped, Dolly used to poop on my bed all the time. It became his favorite place to poop I think. I got an old sheet that I would put and then wash right away. The good news is if you toss it in the wash right away (after taking off the heavy solids) it cleans right up.
