Best Week Ever **DUW**

So...many of you know that I met my 21-year-old son for the first time since we was 2, just about a week ago. Long story short, it's been far too long in the making, but we had an absolutely outstanding week. We've already made plans for him to come back through for a couple days in August. Anyhow...

Couple of animals we found while walking around the desert...

A very bold Turkey Vulture

Not sure. Maybe a Rock Wren?

Some candid shots...

I gotta say...it's been one helluva week....

Thanks for looking!

Thanks! I like B&W. It's always been my favorite to view, and it remains my favorite to show. I can't help it. It's in my blood.

I don't do this very often, but this is a shot my girlfriend took of my son and I. I'm on viewer's right...

Great pics :D

And I have a marked preference for black-and-white shots as well. Not saying I don't like the color ones, but something about black-and-white appeals to me (I'm the same with drawn art as opposed to photos.)

Awesome shots! I am definitely going to have to hit you up for some herping spots when I do my California trip in July.

Thanks, everyone. You hvae no idea how emotionally thrilling it was to watch my son and my daughter play together. Yes, he is 21 and she is 6, but it was really, really an incredible week.

Yes, Lefty, those are at Mono Lake.

And Jeff, if you come out this way, definitely hit me up!

Chris, as always beautiful shots. And, I am glad to hear how well your meeting/ week went. There are so many people out there who do not enjoy their first meetings with long lost family. I am glad that things went so well. Congratulations!

Congrats on getting a chance to catch up with your son! Looks like you guys had a great time and I hope you have many more together!!!!

Kat

Beautiful photos, as always. I never get tired of looking at them. I especially love the turkey vulture shot. And, is the little girl in pink, running behind you and your son, your daughter?

Yes, that is my little rugrat running behind us. We were having a birthday party for my girlfriend's daughter at the playground.

Thanks, everyone, for stopping by and looking! I'm happy to share some of my Best Week Ever with all of you!

Awesome story about your son and gorgeous pix! I got emotional enough that I teared up. I'm very happy for you all!

And Jeff, if you come out this way, definitely hit me up!

Will do. Right now I am planning a summer trip to somewhere in mid/south Cali....if I am in the neighborhood I will definitely hit you up. I would love to see panimants!

Awesome. I'd missed the story. Congratulations! I love the turkey vulture shot.

I never really told "a story". It's a long story, and I really don't feel much like telling it. This is the happy ending, so I'm running with that...:D

Thanks, everyone, for looking!

That's awesome you got to reconnect with your son. My dad used to always say family are the only people you can really count on throughout your whole life. Then he moved me half across the country from ours. Well.. let's just say your story is inspirational to me (even though mine is no where near as extreme as I'm imagining yours to be)..

Great shots, did your son just happen to be a photographer as well, or was he taking photos for the heck of it with you?
