Bet you can't guess what I found this am

Congrats on the clutch! Those eggs look great! I had my first clutch for '08 laid yesterday as well.

...I wish I would have weighed the eggs as I was surprised how heavy they were.
I don't weigh the eggs, but I do weigh the female after laying and if you have a weight within a couple of weeks of her laying, you'll have a good idea of just how much those little white things really weigh...and how much it takes out of a female. My female that just laid lost about 155 grams, but she also hasn't been eating since mating.

That's what I did with Beauty after laying, I weighed her in her feeding tub just before giving her a post lay feed, which she ate enthusiastically, and she's lost 125g after laying 17 eggs :) I'd weighed her two days before laying and that was also the first time she refused to feed :) (I always offer my girls a small feed after the pre-lay shed :shrugs: )

Thanks all, Yes this was her first clutch. It was first breeding for both male and female. I weighed her this morning and she lost 130 grams, very scarey. I offered her a small hopper, which she went for immediatley. She has to make sure it's dead (which it was). I hope she doesn't use all her energy constricting.
