It's sort of expensive, but you dilute it down and it only takes 2 tbsp to make a gallon of cleaner. So it'll last you forever.
The problem with bleach is that if you don't adequately rinse it then it can potentially cause health issues for your animal.
Madame said:Well, I get reactions to bleach and other chemicals, so I use good ol' vinegar. The glass is nice and shiny and makes you want pickles! Plus, the smell leaves a lot faster than bleach. Just don't mix vinegar with bleach or you will produce chlorine gas, and that's no fun for anybody!
Any acids, basically. Ammonia and bleach give a much stronger chlorine gas, but either way, I wouldn't mix vinegar with bleach anyways. Vinegar does neutralise bleach, though (say if you clean your tank with bleach you can wipe some vinegar over it afterwards to get rid if the smell.) I've heard of bleach and vinegar recipes but I don't trust them! I'm really nervous with chemicals.BeckyG said:Um, isn't that ammonia and bleach that makes chlorine gas?
