Anyone else playing this game? I've become quite addicted to it. Now that I'm retired I can completely waste my time with stuff like this without feeling guilty that I'm neglecting the animals.

I played for a while. The first one is the first and really only First Person Shooter I actually enjoy. I have a severe disdain for the genre, but 2K(?) really nailed it with the Borderlands franchise. I lost a bit of interest in the second one because it didn't bring enough "new" to the table. Felt more like an expansion pack for the first than a true sequel. Still a great game though. I've been considering re-installing it with all the new DLCs and expansions for it since I stopped playing.

Yeah, I played BL-1 through to the finish like every other game I have ever played. Then on to the next one. But BL-2 has been different somehow. I started off in one character, didn't much like it, so restarted with another character. Finished the game and then restarted another one with the enhanced goodies the DLC option offered using the same character and starting OFF where the first playthough left off with weapons and other loot.

I find that I'm a weapons junkie, which I guess shouldn't surprise me too much. I hate to get rid of any of them to make room for new ones. So everything is maxed out. With 39 slots in my backpack, I'm still having trouble getting rid of any. I'm at level 55 now with $40 million bucks in the "bank".

Then I discovered the "golden keys". Boy howdy! Kicking ass now and not bothering to take any names. It's the only way I have found to actually get level 55 weapons.

Don't have a clue why I am playing this one completely different from any other game I have ever played.

I'm playing it on my PC with all the graphics options maxed out and the GTX580 graphics card I am using has it running smooth as silk at 1980x1200. The graphics and fluid motion are spectacular. All the perspectives are incredible and pretty much makes me feel that I am RIGHT THERE.

I guess I'll get bored of it eventually, but darn I want to see what the level 72 weapons are like..... :)

I have over 200 hours into Borderlands 2. My buddy and I played it like crazy. Got some of the crazy weapons at the end-game. My favourite is a largely useless rocket launcher called The Mongol that has the following text on it:

Consumes reduced ammo per shot.
Just kidding, no it doesn't.

Also, the fight on the Dam Top is easily one of my favourite sequences (The entire thing from when you first load in to the boss fight at the end) of any game ever.

PS. 2K published Borderlands, but Gearbox is the developer. :)

I DO !

I have about 1500 hours in the game.

Rich I know Ill get yelled at for this but, its not a reptile site so, I own a PS3/4 gaming site where we have a large group of BL's players if you ever want to hook up with mature adult players....

We always have great people to game with along with BL events should you want to join in, check us out.

BL-2 is an absolute blast!! I liked the first one, but love the second one.

My favorite gun is the infinity gun. Unlimited ammo w/o ever having to reload=awesomeness!! Mine is only a lvl 50, and I'm a level 60something now, so it's pretty much useless. Hoping to get another when I get to the top level.

Not sure if you know about this, but here's a great site for Golden Key codes: http://orcz.com/Borderlands_2:_Golden_Key

Man, I just reached level 56 last night. I've still got 93 golden keys remaining to cash in on weapons, so I'm curious to see if they remain at level 55 or ramp up along with my own level. Thanks for that link for the keys, but I already found it. I used all the codes I could find that were still active. I think I had 105 or so when the dust cleared.

I'm thinking that after level 50, the weapons levels might have plateaus at 55, 61, and 72. But I'm really not sure. Some of the sections I play through are still stuck on the lower levels as the vending machines are only offering level 44 or so stock for sale. I read something somewhere indicating that there are even levels above 72, but that's a long way off for me. The higher levels seem to be getting harder and harder to reach now.

I tried farming for the Infinity pistol a couple of times, but never did get one. Been using an Unkempt Harald for the most part that really packs a wallop. Got a bunch of really nice weapons by farming for Torgue tokens in Pete's Bar and cashing them in. This also seems to be the easiest way to quickly ramp up your level.

I'll have to check to see how many hours I actually have into the game. I've been playing the commando character, as the sentry gun has been a life saver in a lot of instances. It takes the focus off of me during a fire fight. Working to get enough level points to get a second sentry when I can.

BTW, Steam is having a 50% off sale on BL 2 and the DLC packages right now.

Where is that dam top fight? I don't remember running into that one yet. I got a level 50 NUKE variant launcher that produces over 400,000 damage points. Kind of useless except in special circumstances since it's much like just lobbing a grenade and really not much use as a RPG.

Honestly, I've only ever played solo games on my own PC, and never tried online in a group before. I'm so used to just shooting anything that moves that isn't me that I would probably piss off people when I shot them accidentally. I've even shot up my own sentry gun a couple of times.

I'm trying to farm a better TheBee shield. The one I have is OK and packs 40,000+ bonus damage points into every shot I fire, but it's dicey since the shield itself is not too strong. This shield along with an Unkempt Harald is a pretty wicked combo if you can keep the shield from being depleted. But the Harald supplies enough punch on it's own that you can keep from getting slaughtered when the shield does take hits.

I've just GOT to dump some stuff out of my backpack! I'm using 38 of the 39 slots and every time I browse through it I can think of a reason to keep every blasted one of them. I've already got the storage places in Sanctuary filled, too...

I've found that once I hit 50, the guns were only useful for an extra level or two (ie a lvl 55 gun could be used until lvl 57, maybe 58 if it was a really awesome orange or purple).

I remember reading lots of stuff on not accepting missions on your second play through, and then accepting them on your 3rd play through so the missions would be your level. IIRC, once you're in that level the missions usually are the level that you are, so this at least keeps the loot near your level. And the golden keys always throw a gun your level, which is nice if you're having a dry spell.

And for my infinity, they have a drop rate of something nuts, like .00001%. I got mine from someone else by cloning it - some frown on that, but I didn't have time to try to kill a boss 10,000 times hoping for a single weapon. Guilt free about cloning it.

And it also helps to play with others to get more exp than by yourself. Usually there are more enemies=more exp=faster leveling.

I was similar to you, would just hoard stuff forever. Eventually I just figured out I love SMGs, assault rifles, and pistols. So I'd try to keep one of each of those for each element, and then just one of each other weapon type. Same with grenades, love transfusion, so I'll just keep one transfusion grenade on me. Minimizes having to choose so much. Nothing worst than being out on a quest and getting some sweet loot, and having all of your slots full, and having to make that decision in haste!

The level of the guns you get is based on your level, so save your keys until you hit the level cap (I had 10 keys, got nothing of value out of the chest.)

Grinding bosses is probably the best way to get gear. Some specific loot drops from specific bosses. For example, I play Maya, and I killed the BNK3R probably over 100 times to get the Siren head drop from it.

I'm sure you've played Dam Top. It's when you're rescuing Roland and you fight through the robots to the boss at the end.

Yeah, probably so. But I know old age has played hell with my memory, so even knowing I had to have played sections before, they are just vaguely familiar. Which is a good thing, I guess, since it still keeps them fun instead of me knowing what to anticipate at every move.

I think I like the sniper rifles best of all the options where it is feasible. I'd rather just creep up on an area and check it out through the scope and see who I can pick off before they charge me. Then I break out the Harald to clear the path to where I want to go.

Anyone played the DLC Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt? I must be doing something wrong there because the weapons on the vehicle are just flat out lame. Seems to take forever to take an enemy down. And those witchdoctors will eat my lunch if I'm not REAL careful.

I think I will use the golden keys sparingly, just to give me a good selection of weapons at whatever level I am at. They are all purple levels so they are pretty stout. Still haven't gotten any shields that way, though. And the grenades I've gotten through the Torgue vending machines WAY outclass the few I've gotten from the keys. Maybe too much so. I've killed myself with my own grenades more than once. :( I've learned to stay away from those bouncy suckers.

I just checked my stats and I've put 578 hours into this stupid game. :dunce:

That's just ridiculous...... Can't wait to get back to it later this evening....

Well, I found out that the golden keys chest DOES ramp up to whatever level you are at incrementally. And I finally did get a couple of new shields. One of them is three times what the level 50 shields I've got are rated at.

I noticed that they had a deal for $10 on Borderlands 2. I checked it out because of the price, it looked pretty fun. The maps looked huge, and the weapons came in a bajillion different morphs. I just haven't really played games in a while, and didn't see myself wanting to invest the time.

But it looked pretty awesome, especially for a group with a few friends, where you pretty much have a brand new gaming-experience everytime you load up. New weapons, maps, quests, etc..

I'm not getting an Xbox One anytime soon, nor do I even want one, but Elder Scrolls Online looks amazing. Sort of an upgrade from Borderlands, in the scape of multi-player, the maps, etc. So long as you like the fantasy/medieval/mythical storylines.. which I have from the other Elder Scrolls games (Skyrim/Morrowind/Oblivion).

There is actually a medieval dungeons and dragons style DLC for Borderlands 2. Doesn't do much for me, but I have been able to get some decent loot there. That's where I have been able to farm The Bee shield successfully.

Not sure the sale is still on, as I thought it was just for the weekend. But I'm sure you could snag a copy off of Ebay for a pretty decent price. I believe that's where I got my copy. I've never needed to be the first on my block to buy a game, so I wait until a game I am interested in becomes available for no less than what I would pay for a bargain Blu-ray movie. A game will be new to me, no matter how old it is on the market, so I can wait.

Tiny Tina's assault on dragon keep all the way! If any of you are playing on the Playstation hit me with a psn and we can party. New DLC this week I believe with Mad Moxxi getting married again. My main is lvl 51 assassin and I also have a lvl 20 sum commando and level 20 sum siren.

I played the first one to death, but haven't purchased the second for whatever reason. I'm working through Torchlight 2 just now, so I'm always late to the party with video games. Saint's Row 4 is also on my list, and I've been in the Elder Scrolls Online beta.

The Mrs. and I are looking at ESO, she wants it on pc but I want it on PS4 I just game better with a console...

Honestly, I'm not looking forward to getting to that spot in that DLC with those moving platforms again. Took me FOREVER to figure out the flow to be able to get through it the first time. And even then, I just BARELY made it.

I actually have a PS3, but only use it to play my BluRay movies with. I just cannot work that paddle board interface very well. Been playing games using a keyboard and a mouse for so long that it is difficult for me to change my style of playing at this late date.
