Don't see these too often, I stumbled upon them in my never ending search for something my Scarlet King might eat! So far he has no interest in these either.

Very interesting! Do they live underground like the worm snakes do? What do they eat? It's hard to get an idea of their size..

Yeah I should have put something in the picture for comparison. They are about 4-5" long and about as thick as a piece of cooked spaghetti, maybe a tad bit thicker. They surface after a rain but primarily stay underground eating the eggs and larvae of ants and termites. They are indigenous to Southeast Asia, but made their way here through imported plants, shrubs, sod, etc...

Another interesting fact is that they are unisexual, an all female species. They sometimes lay eggs, and sometimes give live birth, bizarre!
