Brand new corn owner-first post

Happy to join the ranks of being a proud corn owner. Here is my little guy or girl and although not as colorful as I would have liked, he was so tame in my hands when I first held him that his temperament won me over. Can anyone tell by the pic what type he is and do they get darker as they get older? Thanks

Click on the second pic, it should get huge and you can see details better, sorry my girlfriend took the pics!

Yellow banded, somewhat lavender. Hes no corn, i suspect a jungle of some sort. Stunning little thing though :) Nice find.

Dang Petco! The little guy was listed as a corn snake.
Thanks guys for the input so far, now the only problem is...what is a jungle, is it a type of kingsnake or something totally different altogether. Time to start researching so I know how to take care of him properly.

Judging by the pic, looks like a Albino California King Snake to me no corn snake blood at all. Some pics showing the head and the body not all curled up would help get a positive identification.

They are corn X cali king hybrids, and their husbandry is no more elaborate than corns or kings :p

this is what to expect in the near future. Like i said, amazing find :)

Found a pic that is almost identical to mine and it was listed as an albino California Kingsnake.

I'll have to agree, mabey a lavender kingxcorn (jungle corn). beautiful snake though.

Are we looking at the same snake? Nothing in that pic suggests that it has any Corn Snake in it to me. :shrugs:

I thought so. But it is hard to be sure without a clear shot of the head.

Like you say, its hard to tell. It was just a hunch, and the picture i posted of a jungle looks very much like it?

Definitely an Albino California King Snake.

Like I said before nothing in that first pic suggests it has any Corn Snake blood in it. As far as the pic you posted, it has similar color but the pattern is completely different.

Yeah, that's definitely an albino cal king.

Again---not sure why people feel the need to toss out random guesses when they have no idea what they're talking about.

A California Kingsnake will eat rodents, lizards, other snakes. So.... don't buy him a cornsnake *friend* & house them together. (I've seen photos of dead kingsnakes which tried to eat their same size tank mates unsuccessfully)

It's a very nicely marked snake

99% sure its an albino californian king snake, if not then its a albino jungle corn with about 98% cali king influence :grin01:

Still a stunner though, just a shame most pet shops cant get things like difference in appearance between corns and kings right.

You take care of a king the same way a corn :) Just, these ones you have to make SURE you dont house with others...

He's a beautiful litttle fellow :)
