Bucket List?

Nanci

Alien Lover
Tha local paper had an article about people's bucket lists- things you really want to do before you kick the bucket. Apparently brought on my some new Morgan Freeman film that is coming out. http://tinyurl.com/ysf2h4

I'd done some of the things people listed: hot air balloon flight, ride a horse along the ocean shore...

I don't have much I'd put on mine.

1. Travel to New Zealand /Australia

2. Visit the Galapogos Islands

3. Learn to surf (yeah, right!)

4. Find a wild king or milksnake

5. Hike the Appalachian Trail.

One thing I did back when I did cave diving exploration was lay line in a previously never seen by anyone cave passage and in the process, discover a gigantic underground underwater room- that is one of the highlights of my life.

Ride Tour de France route to climb Alp de Huez

I don't think I could do it! I know some people that have, though. That would be something- get to see the TDF peloton go by...

Ok, I'd like to do the Alp de Heuz descent. With disc brakes.

Get Married
Become a Father
Visit Scotland
Skydive (I'm going to die anyway, right?)
Go on a Cruise
Scuba Dive
Rear a Bird of Prey from Hatchling to Adult and Train it
Drive a Bugatti Veyron

Possibly a few others, but I can't think of any of them right now.

Go back to College and finish this time (went for 2 years)
Hike the Pacific Crest Trail
Raft down the Amazon/ visit South America in general
Study oil painting with a good teacher and improve my ability
learn a third language
Be able to afford a house with room for a huge greenhouse and horses
Write a novel
Produce a new morph of corn snake
Do something meaningful for this planet... help to save an endangered species. donate land to be preserved in a wild state or something like that

I made a list like that in High School. I wish I had kept it. Some of it I remember. (Remember, I grew up in a small town in Louisiana, with (seemingly) limited horizons)

- Graduate from a Service Academy (done)
Get my private pilot's license (done, but it was too expensive to continue, plus I can't fly now after my M/C wreck until I pay through the nose to renew my medical certification, which I can't afford or have time for)
- Scuba (done)
- See a Broadway show on Broadway (done)
- Drive, or preferably ride a motorcycle coast to coast (if I could only get 3 weeks off in a row...)
- Canoe the Mississippi from the source to the Gulf
- Travel by ship across an ocean (not just a cruise)
- See Europe (done, partially but not enough)
- See Hawaii
- See Alaska
- See Asia
- Go on an African Safari (hunting part optional)
- Master's degree (done)
- PhD (probably never will)

There were more, but I forgot them. Maybe I'll sit down and write another list now that the bucket is closer. :)

Shed'n my skin listed:

Hike the Pacific Crest Trail (Do you know who David Horton is? I have a cool video of him attempting to break the speed record, going south to north. It sure is beautiful...)

Raft down the Amazon/ visit South America in general (I'd like to do that, too. I've always been fascinated with SA after reading so much Gerald Durrell as a child).

Do something meaningful for this planet... help to save an endangered species. donate land to be preserved in a wild state or something like that (I try to do one little thing at a time- get one bird out of the road, block traffic from running over one turtle- that's my contribution for now).

I have thought about this quite a few times in the past...

I would like to go on Safari in Africa - the only shooting I will do is with my camera.

I would like to sky dive.

I would like to have my photos published in a reputable wildlife magazine (or National Geographic!!)

I would like to get married.

I would like to be able to make a difference in preserving endangered wildlife for future generations.

I would like to visit Macchu Picchu and Ankgor Wat

I would like to have enough vacation time in one lump sum to drive across the country at my leisure, zigzagging up and down so I can see everything I want to see in the USA.

I would like to go to Russia, Australia, Ireland, Greece, and Italy.

I would like to find an undiscovered ancient ruin or the remains of a previously unknown ancient species.

I would like to dive on pirate ship and recover artifacts.

I would like to win big in Vegas!!

I would like to search for my own gemstones (as seen on the Travel Channel show "The Best Places to Find Cash and Treasures" http://travel.discovery.com/tv/cash-treasures/cash-treasures.html

I am sure there are more if I "really" took some time to think about it - but these are right off the top of my head.

1. I want to do a week long pack trip on horseback.

2. I want to discover a dinosaur fossil....haha I have wanted to do this since I was two. I did find an arrowhead last year..that was really exciting! The dinosaur doesn't need to be complete, just something cool that I dug up lol.

3. Do some traveling in Europe...mainly to see artwork.

4. Have either corn babies or ball babies. Keep a few!

5. Learn up to 2nd level dressage. Maybe show.

1. Finish my education, 2. Get married and have a family, 3. See the world including Japan, Dubai, Europe, Africa, S. America - pretty much everywhere, 4. Skydive, 5. Continue to learn the guitar and learn a new instrument, 6. Learn another language

Interesting, There was a thread recently on when will you die. So my bucket will automatically empty in 2027. I would like to travel anywhere India, Asia, Thailand... I like to see the pyramids and Aztec and Mayan ruins.
Like Bruce Phd ( but that won't happen)
Live in the country again, get up in the morning check for fresh eggs.
Conquer some of my fears: 2007 I got past my rat phobia. Maybe 2008 will having me holding a snail.
Make everyone in my family a Christmas quilt.
Drive up or down the pacific coast in a classic VW van.
Seeing hubby finish his 55 chevy pick-up (which is his bucket list) but it will make me happy to see his face when it's done.
Do something meaningful, not noble prize stuff but, just helping people. I'm one of those people who will give the person on the side of the road money. I can't stand the thought of anyone going hungry. susang

Hmmm...let's see...

- Visit Chichen Itza and Tulum
- Visit Machu Pichu
- Travel down the Amazon
- Go hiking in Costa Rica (Yeah, I'm on a jungle kick these days)
- See glow worms in a cave in New Zealand
- Pet a Cheetah
- Own a dinosaur...errr...tegu.
- Own an Indigo Snake and Rubber Boa (I like variety!)
- Own a home
- Safari in Africa
- Create fx for a film that actually has a WIDE theatrical release
- Have the first female owned fx shop
- Be featured in Makeup Artist Magazine
- Is an Oscar to big of a dream? LOL!

I actually knocked ALOT of stuff of my list last year, which is pretty fantastically amazing to me-

- Got a Passport
- Saw Rainforest
- Saw Stalactites
- Held a Sloth

- Canoe the Mississippi from the source to the Gulf

I've wanted to do that ever since I read Huck Finn!

I've also wanted to do that on the Amazon...been there once but only spent a day on it...wish I could've done more.

My next big continent/country to conquer would be Australia...been a while since I've been globe-trotting so I'm due for another trip.

Nice thread Nanci!

Well first I would want to do the regular thing... which is to get married and have kids.

I would also like to go on an actual herping trip with a large group of people. I also want to go on a hike with Jeff Mohr to find all the snakes he tracks. (Maybe when they are active in the spring!)

I HAVE to go to Australia and I would like to go on a road trip with some friends.

Ohh yea, and be like Horatio Caine...

I just wanna master....

opening those bags of lunch meats with zippers on them. You know, where it says tear here. No matter what I must tear six times before I can get the bag actually open.
