Cage Feet?

You know those little rubber feet that come with UTHs? I have two 10 gal tanks I raised my red tail boas in as hatchlings that now have baby corns in them. Over the years, the feet fell off and have been lost.

I'm using little adhesive foam circles from the children's craft section in the store atm. I hot-glued them together and used the adhesive to stick them onto the corners of the tanks.

Problem is, they're starting to break down. I don't want to overheat the UTHs or damage the UTH or rheostat cords going under the tank.

Finding just those little feet seems impossible, I've looked all over for them.

Any suggestions on what to use to raise the cages 1/4-1/2 inch or so? I've been thinking about those rubber pot rises for flower pots, but they're not adhesive, they just sit underneath. I'd like something adhesive so I don't bump the tanks and knock them off or something like that.

I never use the little rubber feet for my tanks because I have my tanks sitting on wire racks. How many rubber feet do you need? If you want to pm me your address, I can send you some. I think I have about twenty.

That's so nice of Olivia. I've solved this problem using paperback books of the same thickness. Also some brands of UTH come with feet to put on the viv.

I thought I was being clever with the foam circles. Easy, colorful, pretty... Then they flattened with two weeks. That's what I get for trying to be clever!

In other news, I found little rubber feet by accident today. They had them in the electrical section at Meijer (Midwest supermarket chain). Just in case someone else has the same problem. :)

Lowe's and HD also have them by the melamine shelving area, used as doorstops for the cabinets.

Improvise. I have used Lego block under electronics. You can use alot of items for spacers, just go to a hardware store and look around. Nuts, washers, plastic spacers, popsicle sticks or other thin wood, bottle caps, erasers, etc.

What I do is I have a piece of foam insulation under by UTH and I just carved out a "river" in it for the wire of the thermostat probe and UTH cord to run out.
