Has anyone actually purchased a cage from this company? I am bored and just clicked the link on the side bar (figure what the heck-- gives Rich a little income!) and was drooling yet again over their cage systems. They really do look very nice, but the more details I looked at the more questions I had.
For instance...
http://www.cagesbydesign.com/p-193-hybrid-bird-cages-36h-x-36l-x-24d-h2.aspx
This bird cage seems like it would do a good job of keeping my ever-inventive cat away from the conure, while containing his messes better than his open wire cage.
However, I saw that the stand is only included in the "ultimate" package and then only with a hood attached too. Is it not possible to purchase the stand seperately??
It seems to me that they start with a low priced, but fairly useless beginning package, and keep ratcheting up the price as they add on things that you need, but couple them with things you don't need.
And then there's the light they provide-- the spiral compact fluorescent and the dome lamp. Don't those lights cause damage to herp eyes? Wouldn't the damage be worse for a bird, with more sensitive vision?
So now I'm wondering if anyone has actually bought a cage from them and whether they found it a worthwhile investment?
