Can't even take your ...

My son is appalled that a child would hurt a snake. :( We were at a petting zoo recently and I know I'm being judgmental but apparently most people don't teach their kids to be nice to animals. It was really sad. The guys who ran it spent all their time stopping kids from being mean. :(

Not just that, what if the store in question had herps with mites? You would be exposing your animal to that atmosphere.

This has always been my concern when my daughter wanted to take her snake somewhere... not just mites, but other things that might be airborne. Just too risky for me to take them out to the local Petco or Petsmart.

After reading this I saw the story on the local news station. What a shame it was really a beautiful burm!

but what on earth was he thinking? Its freezing outside and on a highway!?!

I dont see how that is putting the public in danger though, its not like he went to a public park or something, he was on a highway, people are in their cars, sure some idiot could get distracted enough and cause a crash, but its not the snakes fault hahaha.

I'm glad hes been charged with animal cruelty. I am willing to bet there have been cases of neglect or abuse to snakes/other reptiles, that were reported and just ignored or went not cared about because they arent your typical household pet like a cat or a dog.

Anyway I was actually happy with the way my news station told the story, they dident make the burm sound bad at all. I dident like how instead of calling it an albino burmese python they called it a yellow spotted python. XD

I hope it ends up with a nice home, eventhough most large snakes dont :[

Oh and as far as taking snakes outside I'm glad I have a nice huge back yard :]
No one can bother me about it and I get to take some nice pictures

although I do have paranoia about putting my snakes on the ground or in a tree, because I dont know if it could make them catch something bad, idk maybe I'm just a wierdo :]
