Can't See Some Pics?

Mick

Wondering why I can't see some pics. Some show up fine. Others say "stephen (or whoever) has attached this image:", but there's no pic, or link, or anything. Using IE 6.0. Any ideas?

Are you using any spam or ad filters? I had to configure Norton's to let me see the pics posted here.

I have the same prob some pics fine others nothing but white boxes red cross but other users can see them and i have no virus stuff running so I dunno - I gave up trying lol

Rach:cool:

It happened to me

If I remember correctly I had to sign in again.
Click on the icon of the pictures that don't show up.
I think it will say something like you don't have access or something like that.
When this happens I think is when it prompts you to sign in again.
I think !!!

I've also had that happen where you see "Soandso has attached this image:" ........wait about 10 seconds and a big space appears......wait a while longer and the pic shows up.

I've got a computer that sometimes goes on mental hiatus, though, and just forgets to go through with things for a while....then all of a sudden it remembers and *poof* the pic appears. LOL, I can't even blame it on dial up anymore since I'm on a DSL line. Shrug.

Interesting...

I just checked the "page source", i.e the HTML code received, and wherever I get the "So and so has attached this image", there is no picture file in the HTML. So it appears not to be a display/loading issue, but an issue of how the page is formatted before sending. So I guess the question would be... why would different HTML be sent to different people?

Try this

click to respond to this post.
when you see your name next to Logged in user..
click to log out.
It will then take you to a page showing you are logged out.
Click to go back to the forums.
Try to respond to another post.
It will ask you to log back in.
log back in
See if this helps.

Nope...

tried that... when NOT logged in, I get a link. When I click on the link I get the page that says I need to be registered. Then when I DO log in, I get the text that says "So and so has attached this image:", but no link and no embedded pic... in fact nothing in the HTML at all referring to an actual pic. No amount of logging in/out seems to change this pattern.

Bummer

Sorry about that.
It worked for me.
I was hoping it might work for you.
Obviously not the same problem I had.
good luck

HTML of image attachment:

< !--< p>-->< font face="verdana,arial,helvetica" size="1">stephen has attached this image:< br>
<b>< img src="attachment.php?s=&postid=50199" border="0" alt="" vspace="8" hspace="4"></b>

So when the attached image doesn't show, the bold section isn't there at all?

You got it...

The section you marked in bold just isn't in the source when the pic isn't showing. The IMG tag IS there when the picture does show up, which is only for a few pics. Seems to be consistent too... certain pics are always there. Most pics are never there.
