Carmine and Rufus

Tiaret

Noobie Snake Girl
I have had my babies for about 2 weeks now, and I am totally in love. I thought I'd post some pictures to show them off a bit. :p

The first group of pictures are Carmine. She is a doll baby. Every time I hold her she wraps herself around my hand and just looks around calmly.

This group of pictures are of Rufus. He is less calm than Carmine, but he is starting to come around.

They are both about 16 inches long. Carmine weighs 23 grams and Rufus weighs 20 grams. Does anyone have any thoughts on how old they might be? I got them second hand so I don't know.

Here is a picture of me showing Carmine to my son. He had never met a snake before.

Those are SUCH pretty snakes! Sorry though I don't know how old they are, I'm not an expert on corns yet :) I just needed to comment on how cool they look! What morph are they?

Thank you! I am quite proud of them. They are both amelanistic for sure. I think that Rufus might be a Reverse Okeetee. Maybe Carmine too? I'm new at this too, and I don't know anything about my snakes' history. I'm pretty sure that they are Petco snakes.

They are beautiful. Unfortunately, no one can tell you exactly how old they are. They did hatch this year but that is about as close as it gets.

If I had t' guess at age, I'd say around 6-8 months :)
But it really depends, how fast they grow is related directly to how much and how often they're fed. They're both beautiful snakes!

--don't tell them, but I think Carmine is my favorite between them ;)

Thanks for the compliments.

I know that the previous owners fed them each one pinkie every Sunday. I am going to bump them up to two pinkies every 5 days. Their last feeding I gave them each two and they both did great. I think Carmine might be heading into blue. Her head seems kinda flaky, but everything else on her is still pretty shiny, and I don't think her eyes are different. They're red, so I guess it is hard to tell. Neither one of them has shed for me yet, so I don't know what to look for.

For snakes with red eyes, the eyes should get a pinkish tint to them when they are going into blue. It can be really hard to tell though. With mine, her color gets REALLY dull a couple of days before shedding. It's easier to tell with some, and harder with others.
