Chupacabra caught on film??

You can juuuuuust barely see it, but I think off to the side are Bigfoot and Elvis Presley with stopwatches timing his laps . . . :sidestep:

PS. Looks like he had Week 1 NFL picks in his mouth too, you may want to stop motion that image to get your picks Katie!

PPS. My unprofessional skeptical opinion is that it's a 'yote that has mange and has therefore lost all, or most, of his hair. :)

Weird that this would be brought up now..about a week ago I was watching a documentry on mythical creatures..and it really focused on the chupacarbra..The people interviewed farmers in Texas and even had video footage of farm animals dead with no blood left in them, Also it showed multiple photos of 3 of these creatures that were found dead, their fur and skin was sent for testing to see if it was just a dog with a bad case of mange but it came back negative. The documentory had said no trace had been found of one alive and they needed to see one to determine if this was a new species of animal. Well guess this is their proof...Interesting..

I think I saw the same one! Do you remember the old woman who said "It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen..." then proceeded to pull a huge gun off of her dash board? My brother and I were laughing hysterically for hours.
As for this creature being the chupacabra, I have never seen anything like it, and it is certainly fun to believe in. However, Im guessing it is some sort of a coyote with mange or perhaps a cross between a wild dog? Its an interesting subject.

nah, it doesn't look like any coyote i have ever seen with or without mange. I think its a dog, kinda like a bull terrier snout if you look closely.

or it could be the Father of Dean's dog.. :sidestep:

Yeah, I watched the same thing on History channel, I was browsing around
on tv, and this show caught my eyes, so I basically watched the whole thing.
It was really interesting, but they really believe it is some kind different breed
of dogs, such like that mexican hairless dog.
They can't really discribe about the fangs/teeth.

One day, I had my buddy once told me story about this what happened, but
I don't know if it's related to that chup' thing.
He was down in Jamica (sp?) to visit his parents,
he was young kid, and he looked outside.
He saw 2 red bright eyes running down towards to him outside, but he was inside, looking through the window.
It was running towards to him, and then he ducked and hid.
He looked back up and it was gone.
Next morning, his parents took him outside to show him something.
Foot prints, a human foot prints, was on the wall to other wall on the house.
It was really creepy.

I love to learn something about monster, myth, and such things like that.

creepy story..I know my mom told me a story of one time when she was little and lived with my grandmother and her brothers and sisters weird things always happened at their house. One night my grandmother heard a scratching at the window, when her and my mother checked there were all these cats outside. My mother claims their must have been over 20 of them all hissing and scratching at the window like crazy, jumping at them as if they were rabid. The next day when they checked outside (it had been snowing the previous night) they found a single pair of paw prints that suddenly became human foot prints and then vanished a few feet away from the house. Both my mother and grandmother and my aunt swear this story to be true and they claim to have seen it with their own eyes...I do believe that there are things out there that we may not be able to explain but they do exist..

How creepy, my post from this afternoon vanished! I said, I think that's some mangy pit bull. But what was the creepy head thing they found, that they said was a coyote but looked like a boar? And I said, how sad that every cool thing, Loch Ness monster, Bigfoot, crop circles, all turn out to be hoaxes.

I think most of those things are tulpas, especially things such as the Loch Ness Monster.

And FYI, Nanci, not ALL crop circles are hoaxes. ;)

Since my earlier post has vanished, I will try to re-post the information. The creature in the video, as well as all of the other bodies found, are nothing more than Xoloitzcuintl, the breed of dog also known as Mexican hairless. At best, they are this breed that has bred with a coyote. We have many of these dogs come into the hospital I work at, and the vet actually owns one...a large male that easily tips the scales at 50 pounds. The gene that causes this breed to be hairless is Dominant, so all the offspring from a cross with a coyote would also be hairless. And this breed is popular in Puerto Rico (birthplace of the "recent" chupacabra sightings, and it's appearance in Texas is also not unexpected. Here is a link that shows several food examples of the diversity seen in this breed:

PS. An earlier post of mine disappeared as well. It commented on the fact that most people don't realize just how ugly/different a normally hairy animal looks when hairless. I think it affects how people have misidentified these """chupacabras""" that have popped up all over the place. :shrugs:

My post is gone too. I agree, people aren't used to seeing hairless animals. Anyway, in my old post here, I said I immediately thought of the Peruvian Hariless dog or the Peruvian Inca Orchid once I saw the "chupacabra" running in the video, especially because the Peruvian hairless sometimes has little wisps of fur and can go very wrong in the looks department as they age (like chinese cresteds). They are also on the medium to large size scale, about the size of the thing in the video. Mexican hairless is a possiblity too though.
