Cleaning feeding tank?

I feed my snakes in sterlite boxes. After each feeding I wash the box with soap and hot water, then use quat (a sterilizing agent), and let the box air out before I feed another snake in it. This makes for a lot of washing - especially on nights when I have more than a couple of snakes eating. My snakes are living in vivs next to one another and have been out of quarantine for several months. Is all the washing really necessary, or am I just wasting water?

I would invest in a few more sterilites--If the snakes are up to about yearling size, you can pick up a pack of those gladware containers and they work fine for feeding. Then they can all eat at the same time and you can just pop the containers into the dishwasher afterwards.

I would continue on washing with each feeding container being used.

I use different containers for each of my snakes. I clean both after each use. I just don't want any more bacteria then I need.

To me its safer.

If only I had a dishwasher...

I've got plenty of sterlites. I can feed a bunch of them at the same time if need be. Guess I'm just looking for the lazy way out, and there isn't one. Thanks for the input. I'll keep scrubbing - and dreaming of the day that I have a dishwasher...

Lol, I know how that is. I only just moved into a house that has a dishwasher, so I had to do everything by hand before too :-/ But, at least with a bunch of steriltes, you can feed all at once and clean the containers out at your leisure :-D
