hey does any1 have a corn that has alot of trees or sticks in their tank and the snake uses them.. because i wanted to put some stuff like that, like branches and such in the tank or even one of thoses pet tech magnet shelfs...but will they use it? or will it be a waste of my money?

Cyrus loves to climb!! The only time he doesn't climb is in the day and right after eating....but come sun down he is all over his tank!!

Not all snakes are climbers, but certainly put your stuff in there and see! I introduced Cyrus to his "tree". I would set Cyrus on the log after handeling him....sometimes he would get right down other times he would explore...now he is always on it! I don't know if I needed to do all that with him, but, made me feel better anyway...LOL!

Hey do you have a link to where you got your tree from if it was online.. and do you also have vines.. I want my tank to look like a nice jungle theme for me and my corns liking.

I found all branches and bark hides in the forest nearby. It`s for free and I could choose what`s perfectly suitable for my viv.
We have almost no snakes around here in the wild, so there is no risk of bringing in any parasites. Anyway I cleaned all of it twice with a brush and boiling hot water.
For the jungle feeling there is twine (real plant) coiled up the branches.
The arrangement is mainly in use as a kind of stairs between the upper hiding and the ground.

Most corns I heard of love climbing ;)

Sme of mine like to climb and some don't - seems to be an individual preference. I'd stick to free stuff that you collect yourself while you're working out what yours enjoys.

Just the usual provisos - no pine or other evergreens as they're poisonous to Corns. Hardwoods like oak or beech are fine, as are fruit woods like apple if you know someone who's clearing an old tree.

I actually got mine from another snake owner who didn't need it anymore.....I boiled it and let it air dry. I then went to Wal*Mart and got some viney, leafy plants and put those on the "tree". Cyrus seems to like it!

I have a plastic "plant" that Boo ADORES. Whenever he's out f his hide he's in the tree, where he'll climb and explore until he gets sleepy and curls up in it's center for a nap :)

Be careful about bringing outside plants in. If it's hardwood, bake it in the oven at 150* for... 30 mins if remember correctly, or boil in hot water if it's not.

My Rob Zombie is constantly climbing on his vines and branches. He loves them. Most definatly not a waste of money IMO
