Coaxing the disinterested female

Ugh. I've been pairing lavender Aztec het hypo het stripe female Kamalah and hypo vanishing stripe het lavender male Keegan at least once a week for a while now--at least 5 times--and so far, she wants NOTHING to do with him. He's *very* interested in her, but she scoots away from him, whips her tail away from him, and even rattles her annoyance at times.

When I pair them, we put them in a very large plastic tub with newspaper only in it, and I always put her in first, then him, leave them about 15min, then remove him so she can destress in there alone. We've tried it during different times of the day, different weather, etc...nothing.

This is the first time for both in the breeding pair. Any tips? Pleeeeease tell me she'll acquiesce eventually. It's still early, I know, but I am quite eager for this to be successful. :)

First make certain that you have a male and a female. I know this sounds ridiculous but trust me. Until your "female" lays eggs I would always ask this question.
Did you brumate them? Successful breeding does not require it in corns but it makes knowing when to pair them up much easier.
You can leave them together much longer. I'd suggest an over night visit. Some animals want more time to settle down and some privacy for this very vulnerable act.
And lastly, I have had animals that just refuse to breed; both males and females. If you have a different male you might want to try him and see if she is refusing to breed all together or if the refusal is only of that particular male.

I am fairly certain Kamalah is female (Keegan is reeeeally certain of it  ), but maybe I'll do a scale count to be even more assured.

I did not brumate them--I know it isn't necessary, but you said it makes knowing when to pair them easier. I wonder if maybe I'm just trying too soon...? The last few years when breeding my other female Cleo (also without brumation), she wasn't ready until the first week of April.

I was thinking about a longer pairing--overnight, or at least for a day. Makes it harder to know *for sure* if they lock, but it's something. I was considering, though, putting her in Keegan's 55gal enclosure with her own hide added in the center--it's actually a larger footspace than the plastic breeding tub. This is what we did with Cleo and our other male (since sold, though) in the last few years, but I wanted to try and be more professional this time around and have them in more sterile conditions. Still, maybe it's worth a try in another week or so.

Thanks for the tip. I really hope she isn't being really particular about her mate, because they were bought specifically as a breeding project. That would just be the luck, though, wouldn't it? ;)

I am not far from you, so weather is very similar. I too did not brumate and like you I have been pairing my snakes for at least 6 weeks and until today I was 1/12. But today we jump to 5/12. Some of my females are doing the same as yours, so I would just keep at it! That's my plan anyway!

Could I just see a picture of your girl the aztec, I have a rescue aztec here and I dont have many to look at and on top of that I love lavenders! <3 regarding the mating I know nothing!

Jereme, I shall keep at it as well. I'm hoping she just is on the same schedule as my classic female--whenever we bred her, she was completely disinterested until the second week of April or so. Both years it was almost the exact same dates--the 10th or so.

Ravenessa, here are pics of my pair (may as well show them BOTH off :) ):

Here is Keegan:
