i was handling my hatchling corn today when my roommate asked what the darker spot on his side was. i had no clue and had not noticed it before but its about 1/4 way down his body on the lower part of his side. the only thing i can think of was a bruise seeing how he fell out of his climbing branch today but i dont know how that works or if its possible...only other things i could come up with was remnants of a mouse which was fed saturday morning or poop but its so far up his body...it isnt a very dark patch but its there and i am very concerned...am i being a little too concerned?
 
my digital camera is out of commishion till later this week but ill get em up soon...any suggestions what it could be tho
 
Mine also has a dark spot on it's abdomen about a quarter of the way down it's body. I can tell it isnt a marking on a scale, because they are white ... it looks like it's inside her.

I wondered what it was as well ... I thought it was poop, but it hasn't passed. It doesn'd seem to bother her wither, it's not tender.
 
Most likely it's just his intestines. A picture would definitly clear this up, be sure to post one as soon as you get your camera back.
 
What color is your snake? Also My snakes have fallen several times as they like to get up in ledge near the top. It is probably nothing, but pics would be nice, when you can.
 
Baby snakes often are translucent. The contents of their intestines can be seen as dark spots thru the skin.
 
I'd bet you both have amelanistic snakes(red albino), and what you're seeing is the gall bladder or intestinal contents.

But do provide a picture ASAP, to be positive...
 
I had the same worry when I got my hatchling snow. With him being white he was VERY translucent. I didn't notice the spot until about a week after I got him and got in touch with the breeder who let me know not to worry - it was internal organs!
 
yea he is a snow corn i was very worried i lost the charger for my digital camera so i dont know when i can get pictures up im going to try and borrow a roommates but thanks for easing my concern for a bit at least
 
I would bet it's organs (and left over mousey parts at times -- eww). Casper seems to have spots here and there that show more at some times than at others. At first I thought he had internal bleeding. It looked how you're describing it -- like an internal bruise...definitely not at the surface.
