Great looking snake. With that BCC blood don't overfeed or you're gonna end up with a BIG snake. Glad to see somebody else hop aboard the boa-caholics boat :grin01:
Theres no doubt he has BCC blood in him. Big peaked saddles, clean pale colour and look at that big red tail! Nothing wrong with a fabulous looking mutt, you got yourself a stunning snake, congrats!
I just called the breeder and she said he's a simply a "Colombian". She has been keeping/breeding since the early 80's, and said back then a boa was a boa and the localities weren't of much importance to exporters then. It started when she kept 2 together and they gave her healthy babies. Ever since then she has been breeding for cleaner and more interesting patterns. She says its highly a possibility that he is mixed down his lines since the ranges of BCC and BCI coincide and in order to prevent confusion, she markets them as common/Colombian boas. At any rate she says this particular snake will probably top off at about 6 feet. Sharon is a great person, and if anyone wants your run of the mill "Colombian" boa that would make a good pet, go to her. She breeds for nice temperments in addition to nice markings and big red tails. She also spends a good deal of time handling her snakes and their offspring individually.
I'm gonna keep this thread alive so watch for it when I finally get him and open his box I will have pictures to share of the big day!
Ummm I have seen alot of 12ft boas average size,I have also seen one that was pretty close to 16 feet.So ya be prepared to be able to feed a animal of this size, the biggest one I have seen must have been fed adult pigs!
