Corn Snake Cooling Question

Im kinda new to corns but, i know you should cool them before breeding but is it completely necessary? Sorry if it is a stupid question, but i know with my ball pythons i don't have to lower their temps, thell breed anyway. Do you guys cool yours.
Thanks

Some do, some don't. It is not completely necessary. I have not started breeding yet but some breeders will tell you they see a difference in fertility rates and numbers of eggs being laid when they do burmate and some say they do not.

So the best answer I can give you is, it's up to you, if you want more information on it you can use the search option and try using the keywords burmation: burmate

Hope that helps until others chime in.

Yep, What she said, that being said, I do brumate and have had great luck with my clutches and fertility rates. I think brumating them they're first year of breeding is probably a good idea, especially since virgin pairings tend towards lower egg count and hatch rates, at least in my experience.
Just maek sure your snakes have good weight are healthy and you do it right, even then some people still lose snakes during brumation.

I've never cooled/brumated and mine breed just fine.

I'd suggest trying without it the first season - getting them ready for brumation adds a later of mild complication and you'll probably find that they do just great for you without.

Brumating is said to increase fertility, but if you're a hobby breeder just dipping your toe in the water to see if you enjoy it, then I suspect fertility rates aren't going to be that much of an issue. You can always brumate the following year if you decide to go for it full tilt.
