Well, I'm sorry they weren't viable, but if your snake really has never been with a male, that's still very remarkable that she was able to produce babies.

I'm sorry to hear the little guys wouldn't have made it. Sad thing.
But if you have strong evidence your snake has never been with a male in her whole life (even if she was with one a while ago she could retain sperm) then I think some further investigation is in order. If this was a case of true parthenogenesis, it would be very rare. I spent part of the afternoon combing the scientific literature about parthenogenesis in snakes and reptiles and I didn't find any published reports of it occurring in corn snakes. I think you should try to contact a local university with a herp department - it would be really cool if you could prove this case.

Thank you for your support and help through this all. I'm going to put the better embryo in formaldehyde and probably try to contact someone about it because unless there's any way she could've had sperm into her when she was a baby there's no way for her to have sperm.
