Thanks, Dinah! I'd love to see her recipe!NO, sadly I only have bad spaetzle recipes, and the kind they sell at the supermarket is gross but I have found that World Market sells a decent package of pre made. I didn't know there was a spaetzle maker, my Mother in Law who does have a good recipe uses the holes of a noodle strainer to make hers. If I can get her recipe I will let you know.
I bet you disgusted even yourself with that one, didn't you??Spaetzle recipe? Don't you just cough hard? Isn't that Yiddish for "lung butter?"
I did get a little gaggy. :grin01:
Let me consult my Culinaria:Germany cookbook. Hang on.
Do you not like Spaetzle?
4 cups flour
5 eggs
1 tsp salt and nutmeg
1 cup tepid water
3 tbsp butter for the pan
There is!! This is the one I have:I didn't know there was a spaetzle maker,
I don't know. I've never tried it. But it sounds kinda like egg noodles, and I'm not into those.
Those sound really rich, Kathy...perfect! Do I put the water in the mix?? These are pan made rather than made with a spaetzle hex?
Sounds like you better start loving them!!! Big time!!! :sidestep:
Hah! Lori knows that my alien physiology is intolerant of many Terran food items, and that I require little caloric input. Two Red Bulls, 23 shots of distilled grain product, and several nuggets of dried animal flesh provide me sufficient nutrition in any given Terran rotational period.
Thanks for sharing that, Steph!I have a friend who lived in Germany for some time and she loves this site: www.germandeli.com. Thought I'd pass it along to German food enthusiasts.
23? An unusual number. Is that the number of shots in a bottle, or simply the normal alien serving size?
