Crested/Gargoyle gecko owners - advice please!

We have a young crested gecko, and my friend just bought a young gargoyle gecko. We were thinking we would buy a pound of Repashy and split it, but I wanted to get some opinions on that idea. Mine ate the original formula Repashy at the breeder's, but hers came from PetCo and has only had insects, to my knowledge.

I am looking at the Pangea diet replacement in addition to the 1 pound bag of original Repashy. What do you guys think?

edit: Mine eats Repashy but this formula is different than the breeder's. Seems more gritty and doesn't smell as good to me.

That amount of diet will last you a good long time. As long as you keep the portion you are not actively using in the freezer, it is good for at least a year.

If the one is not used to eating anything but bugs, it might be difficult getting it eating the diet and take quite awhile, however the powdered diets are important to be feeding, as it's almost impossible to get the gecko all the vitamins and other things it needs on bugs, even if they are fully gut loaded and coated. Good news is that Gargs are usually less into bugs than Cresties and most likely easier to switch. Also, while they can be stubborn and hold out for a long time, unlike snakes, an otherwise healthy gecko will not starve itself to death. So I'd suggest not feeding bugs at all to the one until they are sure it is eating the diet well.

I think it was last year, Repashy came out with a new version, 3.0 and the previous one is still around. I think most of the pet stores still have the 2.0 version, so if you got yours that is different than the breeder's, at a pet store that is probably why.

I have not tried the new Pangea complete diet yet but have heard really good reviews so far on it. The Repashy 3.0 has had mixed reviews, lots of people's geckos love it and grow better on it but a number of people's collections won't eat it.
