OK, I've heard about crop circles for years but honestly, my thought was that they were simply pie-plate shaped hoaxes that some kids were doing late at night just to drive the locals nuts.

But somehow I wound up on another YouTube video that quite honestly was quite startling to me. Sort of makes me feel like I've been sleeping in a cave...

If this is a hoax, then whoever is pulling it off... well, look at it and decide. How COULD it be a hoax? The COMPLEXITY of these things is simply awesome in the extreme.

 
It looks like it cant be a hoax. Its too perfect for a group of people to have made it. And I dont think it would have taken them one night to finish that. It completely rules out the possibility that humans made it, but I dont belive there is another civilization out there in the universe, so this really does have me stumped. I cant belive I've only heard so little about these crop circles, there was WAY more that I didnt know. Whatever it is, I think its just amazing. But who knows. We'll find out when the "time" comes. (I'm referring to 2012)
 
I'm afraid I don't have an answer. I do know that the only time I've ever seen definitive proof of anything related to crop circles was a film where someone showed how they made them--including one of the very intricate ones shown in this particular video, here. Does that mean that they're ALL hoaxes? No. But COULD they be? Yes. Was this one a hoax? It would be more difficult to prove due to the constant filming of the field that night, provided the nighttime videos have been proved to be 100% legit during the entire time they were filming.

I neither believe nor disbelieve that there is extraterrestrial intelligence out there trying to communicate with us. For me, there would need to be more substantial proof. Until that time comes, I'll just keep an open mind, and enjoy looking at true works of art that show up in farmers' fields in the dead of night, whether they were made by humans or extraterrestrials.
 
Rich, I saw a show sometime last year. Some guys showed how they mapped out their intricately detailed crop circles. Then had cameras follow them through the night as the teams went out and followed the plans. The detail blew me away. IF I can find that program info, I'll post it.

My opinion? There fake. I have watched shows with people making them so amazing you would have to think they were real had you not seen them being made. But I do love them. The people that did them are amazing. Do I believe in aliens? maybe but I dont believe there discoveries would be very far ahead of out own.
 
I don’t know anything about crop circles but to say that our planet is the only one out there with sentient beings is silly and quite close minded in my opinion.
There are more suns with planets in our galaxy than there are grains of sand on every beach in this world and there are more galaxies in our universe than there are grains of sand. How can anyone say that ‘aliens’ do not exist. I think the overwhelming likelihood of them existing is FAR FAR greater than them NOT existing. Also, who really knows how ‘young’ or ‘old’ our own advancement is in comparison. Some suns have just been born while others have already become supernovae or collapsed into neutron stars, white dwarfs, black holes, etc.
 
I think they are beautiful and interesting, but they are indeed hoaxes. I might have been gullible enough for a few of the designs, but the face and the binary reconstruction gave it away.
 
I've also seen the videos of the people making these complicated crop circles. They really are amazing. I don't for a minute believe that it's aliens. Think about it. According to modern science, nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, so if aliens are visiting, they travelled years, maybe centuries to get here. Do you really think they have nothing better to do than draw designs in corn fields?

LOL, I was actually thinking the same thing. If we were being visited by "aliens" then I think they would have made "contact" correctly by now. I mean, how long have these incidents been happening and they haven't made proper contact? Just sounds to odd to me. I did find the video though provoking and very interesting but I highly doubt we are being visited by another life form from space.

How ever like others have said, we are one planet in many and to think that we are the only life in the universe is pretty close minded.

Also just a thought, to us "modern" science says its impossible to travel faster then the speed of light how ever 1000 years ago people would have laughed you silly if you told them that man would some day create machines and fly too.

I was going to respond to that in the same way but felt too lazy lol. Very much so. We are tiny babies in our scientific advancement. Theoretical Physicists are working, mathematically, on different methods of space travel and there are all sorts of possibilities out there that are just coming into our realm of understanding such as warping space-time and time manipulation, along with methods of traveling faster than light.
 
Actually, I'm glad that some people brought that up. Yes, even 100 years ago if you suggested that man could go to the moon, you would be laughed at. And, if I remember right, going faster than the speed of light isn't impossible, only breaking the barrier. There are particles that travel faster, and can't slow to the speed of light. We'll learn a lot if we can only figure out gravity...
 
I've always figured crop circles are temporary markings for alien races and something for kids to destroy.

So Rich.. this is what your doing with your retirement time... :laugh:
 
Seen a show where some people made one. There have also been some found which had abnormal electrical/radioactive readings. I'm not sold that they are alien made myself, but I don't completely dismiss the possibility either. There's a great series on History Channel called Ancient Aliens which presents a lot of information/evidence about possible alien activities. This show will get you thinking more than any crop circle will.

Ancient Aliens is an awesome show. I have always thought that the possibilities of our ancestors being visited by some other race of beings to be completely possible. With the jumps in our technologies, to the sudden disappearance of complete races of people, for no apparent reason.
Of course, one of my favorite SciFi show's is Stargate...lol
 
To paraphrase "Contact" (a great movie with Jodi Foster)... "if we're the only ones out here, sure is a great big waste of space"! LOL.

I absolutely love crop circles... I hope - whether they're made by aliens or by man or by some kind of weird radiation (I saw this theory on TV MANY years back) - that they continue to be made. I'd love to have posters of crop circles plastered all over my walls... LOL.

LOL, I have all 10 seasens of SG1 and all of Stargate Atlantis. Even though some of the early graphics were kind of cheesy I found the story plot very interesting. Definitly diffrent then any other alien show thats for sure.
