Custom Cage Update

Here are more pics of the cage I built for my Motley. (24x24x48 melmine)
I cut a branch off my tree and stripped off the bark for climbing. I also cut out bottom of cage and installed glass for undercage heater. Bought the background on line and had it laminated. Hinged door works best. Comments are welcome. Thanks for lookin'

Beautiful setup, but sand or any sand like substance can be very aggravating to a corn's delicate scales and skin.

Looks like Reptile carpet and bark to me...

Just a suggestion on the substrate... I used to use the reptile carpet for my bigger guys, and it holds urates horribly... Make sure you have a few pieces to switch out with and wash it REALLY well, at least every couple weeks, if not more often.

You might also want to consider aspen, won't match your cage as well but corns really love to burrow in the stuff :)

It's not sand. It's repti-carpet and repti-bark. I've used these substances for years and have had no issues. Snake is perfectly healthy if cage kept clean.

I meant to say melamine. It's basically a pvc coating on wood. You see these everywhere in retail shelving. Easy to wash and keep clean.

Neat looking cage and a job well done! One thing you might want to consider adding, is a hide on the warm side over the UTH. If your corn doesn't feel secure on the warm side then he may never use it and it could lead to digestion issues, just a thought :)
