Day 70 when to worry

I just had a clutch hatch at 72 days. I incubated them at 80 F. All 14 hatched and were in good shape. Most of my clutches hatch around 65-70 days.

Chris

I am the same way i am coming up on 70 days myself and the look the same as the day I put them in the incubator. I couple of them were slugs but I knew that was going to happen. I am still have my fingers crossed that the rest of them hatch soon.

Today is day 72 for my Bogertophis Subocularis.....I hate waiting. I candled them a couple weeks ago and all looked good. I know your pain.

Last year Kelsey's (RIP) 3 surviving eggs hatched on day 88(Chelsea), day 89 (Katrina)and day 90(Kismet). I kept all 3 and they are doing great.

As long as the eggs look good, I would give them 90 days. BTW- Have you candled them? Are you sure they are fertile?

Chris

The "by the book" answer (Kathy Love's book, of course), is that if your temperature variation stayed between 82 and 88 deg, it averages out to 73 days hatching time for clutches.

She also writes that she knows of one clutch that took 120 days to hatch, but only one live snake came out of that one.

Day 66:
Eggs looks fine (white and round) and have begun to dimple a little.
They have not get any softer (well just a bit) a few days ago
This really drives me crazy! First eggs get soft and then they get back hard/solid :eek1: What does that mean?? Im a bit worried here.. :shrugs:

I hope eveything works out for you Amaterasu. Me I think i have to give up on my eggs. I still have nothing and there is with fuzz starting to grow on them. I check my heater and it was set at 82. I guess it failed on me. Now I am just going to worry about getting my girl nice and big so I can try again next year
