Daytona 2007

Usually the person you buy from can ship you your snake/s on the following Monday at a cost of about $40-$60 depending on where you live. It really hurts when you make 4 separate purchases and you have to pay for 4 separate next day shipments. Ouch!!! We tried to get one of the 4 vendors to ship all our snakes to us in one shipment but none of them wanted to be responsible for snakes that weren't purchased from them. Can't blame them really but it still bites... the wallet.

Just pack it up yourself and ship it. :shrugs:

How would you do that? Shipping on Sat puts the snakes in transit for 2 days and I don't think there was a Fedex open on Sunday.

Damn, I want to make it to one of the big shows this year. But We are hoping to go to Tinley park this October, If I can go to this one as well. I will be there. I would be nice to take a vacation in Florida for a bit. Maybe I can go rassle a Gator some thing like that while down there.

Go to FedEx Monday, leave Monday. :crazy02: The show IS two days.

If you're paying for a flight, my as well make a mini vacation out've it.

When is the show this year?

Last I heard it was still up in the air.
If I may, maybe we could ask Bill or Kathy to design the shirts. I am always impressed with their stuff?

Should we dare open the debate on a restaraunt? Or do the Whistle Junction thing again? :shrugs:

Daytona is August 17th - 19th

If that is the group's decision, then they can handle the printing. But, I am a Designer and there is no reason why I can not do it. I've also only seen one of the T-Shirts done by them, the "Spiders Man" one.

Baby is due in August...

Didn't know you were a designer. Have at it. Lets see what we get. :)

Well, I'd like to hear what everyone else has to say about it first since you brought it up. :)

O, and tell that baby to wait until a week after the show! :grin01:

Lmao...

I told Lisa she had to keep her legs together until after the show.

She gave me half a peace sign.

Actually, she should have kept......nevermind :grin01:
I'll get the other half for that :crazy02:

Sometimes though, your brain gets fried. Between my new clients & stuff at work, I'm getting frazzled. People think it's SUCH a gravy job (my Fiance thinks this for instance) but I usually go home with a headache. :twohammer

I'll work some ideas up and post them here.

Any ideas on what it should say???

Daytona!!! Yeah!

I've paid for my table so I'll be there...and hopefully with a bunch of corns. Last year half my table was burms but I recently sold all of them including the adults so the table should be pretty focused...corns and kings...and maybe a albino blood python if she drops.

As far as dinner...sad I missed it last year but I had a family dinner scheduled before I knew about this one. This year I'll try to keep my nights free.

Shipping: I am FedEx and Delta certified and would be more than happy to ship animals from the show especially if you purchase something from me. I usually leave Sunday right after the show closes and could ship everything Monday for a Tuesday delivery. Obviously there will be details that need to be ironed out but if you are interested PM, email me, or stop by my table.

T-shirt: Put me down for 2, one L, one M.

I didn't realize you were a designer either. I'd love to see what you come up with too. I only suggested a contest to give anyone else that wanted to try a shot at it.

As far as ideas for the shirt here are my initial thoughts. It should:

- not say anything about the reptile show by name (for legal reasons)
- have some type of design or pic that clearly indicates it's for corns
- have the dates of the show and the place (Daytona)
- be something appealing enough to wear all year... not just for that event

Maybe it could have something like "Known Online As" or "AKA_______" so you could take a marker and put your name in? Maybe some of the people that are selling corns at the show might want sponsor the shirt with thier company logos on the back or something like that? :shrugs: Just a couple thoughts on it.

That's very cool Jeff! If I didn't purchase anything from you I would be willing to pay you a little something extra for doing that. Thank you for putting that out there.

I agree with all of the above. :)

I like this idea. BUT, I dunno about you, but I'm obsessive compulsive about things being on my clothes. It would bug me to no end having marker on my shirt. I'd end up never wearing it. *lol* I think you can get iron on letters, so that could be an option...I could iron on everyone's cs.com handles or names before shipping out. Maybe make them kind of look like sports shirts with the names? Cause come to think of it, I'd make one for Chris, and he doesn't participate here, so his would just say "Bolinger" (I'd put my nickname for him on it, "Muffy," but I don't think he'd appreciate that...Heh, heh heh).

That's a REALLY cool idea. It would really depend on how many breeders take a liking to the idea. I'm not sure how many cornsnake related people are vending (that participate with CS.com), so instead of just those vendors at the show, I think anyone who breed corns could sponsor it (but put a limit on it, don't want the shirt to look messy).

I agree... iron on names like a jersey would be cool. "Muffy"... now that would be funny. :grin01:

Thank you ;). Now that you mention it... I don't think it should be show... or website specific... just corn specific. I think 8 to ten sponsors on the t-shirt would be nice and it would help bring the price of the shirts down a little.

Put me down for one Large.

I think Stephanie would design a nice shirt.

Does it have to be white? Ash? Cotton please??

Race T-shirts- like cycling or running, have a bunch of sponsors on the back.

I will find out what I can do about color. It would depend on the design (some things just won't work on grey). Maybe black instead? Colored shirts may be more expensive for each plus the custom iron on transfers. I want to try and keep it in the $10-15 range. I will talk to my people about it. :)

How does $25 per sponsor with a maximum of 10 sound?

I might be willing to sponsor...but then how much would the shirts cost? Is the idea to get a lot of sponsors and then the shirts will be cheaper?

Also, I like the name idea on the back..that might work....

It is to make the shirts cheaper (and to provide advertising for breeders), BUT I need to get a price quote on black T-Shirts and figure out how much the iron-ons would cost per shirt. Really I'm going to need a total of shirts and the names on the shirts before I can pinpoint a cost 100%. But my goal is (if we get all 10 sponsors) $5-10 a shirt.
