Daytona Pictures!!

ArpeggioAngel

Around Here Somewhere....
Daytona was amazing! It was everything I expected and a whole lot more. Joe woke me up at 630am to head over there (even though we were only about 5miles from the convention center) because he thought the doors opened at 9am. By the time we got ready, hit the bank, parked and walked over it was all of 830am and the show didn't open until 10am!! Weather was nice so we just hung around outside with the ever growing crowd (Joe is on the stairs in the orange shirt with the backpack in front of him on the right):

They ended up opening the doors at 915am but only to access the top floor of the convention center. The vendors that were set up there weren't ready for people yet so most of them didn't have anything set up. We perused what was there, got our wristbands and then waited to get downstairs to the main floor.
This is a shot of the floor when we were leaving and it was packed!!!

I was so busy looking at everything and deciding what I wanted to get that I neglected to take pictures of some of the amazing snakes and other reptiles that were on display. Maybe one of the other cornsnake members who was there will be able to post some?
I also forgot to get pics of Chris Olson and Jeff Mohr who we met. Both of them were great and had some amazing snakes available. The whole place was just fantastic. I can't get over the variety of herps available. I could've spent a lot more than just a weekend in there!

We did get to meet quite a few members from the forums which was great. It was so nice to be able to put faces with names. What a great bunch of people too! Everyone was so much fun.

Chuck (Serpwidgets I do believe!):

I have to post again to include more pics....

We also met Katie (Ptdnsr) and her boyfriend Jonathan. They had a great little western hognose that I really wanted but was already broke. I forgot to get a good shot of them at the show.

After the show closed we all got together for the Cornsnake Supper Club at Whistle Junction.

Joe is the orange shirt by the window. Next to him is Katie (Ptdnsr), across from her is Jonathan. I apologize, but I don't remember the name of the gentleman next to Jonathan. Then we have Glynn. Not sure how he knew everyone (he said he wasn't on the forum) but he and his wife (the blonde with her back to the camera) were really nice! They raise a lot of turtles!

SupperClub2.jpg

Here we have Lara (CuriousL) and Vinny (VinnyJ) and the back to the camera is Don Soderberg. Other side of the table is Chuck, Connie and Kat.

SupperClub3.jpg

There's Don!! What an absolute riot he is. I really enjoyed listening to him talk about some of his snake adventures. It was also great listening to him and Kathy talk about breeding and morphs and such. Great information for a newbie to the hobby like myself!!

SupperClub4.jpg

This is CFLGUY...again I apologize...I don't think I ever got a first name.

More pics next reply.....

SupperClub5.jpg

This is Susan and her husband. Missed seeing them at the show so I was really glad they made it to dinner!!

SupperClub6.jpg

And of course, Kathy and Bill Love.

We stayed at dinner a few hours. Had some great laughs and some serious discussions. I couldn't stop talking to Joe about it on the way home today. I had such a blast meeting everyone and talking snakes. Wish we had an event like Daytona more than once a year so we could all get together more often!! As is...CAN'T WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR!!

I also picked up a few snakes which I will post in a separate thread.

If anyone else who was there wants to add their pics or anything to this thread feel free...

Very cool. Sounds like you had a great time. One of these years I've got to make it down there. I saw Joe's new snakes, so I'll be looking out for yours. Thanks for posting the photos. :)

What a dork!

I am in no way photogenic! But it really was a good time. Lisa enjoyed meeting everyone and also talked about it on the way home. She usually just looks over my shoulder, looks at everybody's snakes, and says I want that one, I want that one... :crazy02:

it looks like you had a blast, and i'm sorta regretting not meeting up and going to the dinner with everyone. unfortunately i had other plans for the evening. however, i did get to put some faces to names, but and keeping myself under the radar. talked to jeff a little about lava, and really wanted to buy his ice, but just didnt plan ahead well enough. i got the chance to talk to kathy briefly about her extra white bloods, pick up a male h. hypo.....as well as a pewter h. hypo from rich. Anyhow, it looks like everyone had a really good time, and maybe i'll formally introduce myself next time when i have some time to really talk. Oh well, there's always next year.

ps~anyone going to Raleigh? i won't have the ball python people dragging me away from corn tables at that show.

Where's Leslie? After all, ahe made the reservations right
I believe she did make the reservations, but I don't believe I spoke with her or met her.
We also never saw Chris (CMLReptiles)...although we looked for that blue mohawk all day. Saw quite a few mohawks...but no blue ones.

I do think we saw Tammy...I recognized the shirt from an earlier post of what people were going to wear....but couldn't remember who said they were going to wear that particular shirt.

Can't forget Rich.... He was... um... Super :D
Rich.jpg

Don had me laughing so hard with his stories, and Kathy is just a sweet lady with insight into the hobby that only she could bring with her experiences. Connie and Chuck are just as fun as they are on here and if you ever get to meet them, you'll witness the witty sarcasm that is often lost in type. Srsly! :D Everyone at the dinner was worth the price of admission, and then some, to hang out with. Can't wait to do it again! Oh, for comparison, this is the floor before opening...

I didn't get to take too many pics myself, but I managed a few (yes, most aren't that terrific, but it's hard when you're being jostled by the crowd). Katie got quite a few of the members there, but here's a couple she missed:
First...herself...Katie, aka ArpeggioAngel.

There she is again, but there's LizardMom (Leslie) behind her at the table. She did a wonderful job at choosing a resteraunt for us to meet at. And LizardMom's hubby was across from her. I give him alot of credit as he is one of those spouse's that doesn't share the other's love of snakes. Yet, he supports her as best as he can!

Then we have Rich, the Webslave himself. I briefly browsed his table this year, but it was extremely crowded at the time and I never got the chance to go back. Lucky for me too...I didn't spend any more money this year!

Next is Rob Stevens from Bayou Reptiles. We talked a bit about the dilutes and he showed me his lovely dilute/blue stripe. He also showed me a gorgeous pied-sided bloodred. I'll post their pics in a reply.

Last is Jeff Mohr. I picked up 4 adults from Jeff at Daytona and I'm very pleased with them. I also talked with Jeff for awhile and he's a super guy! We missed you at the dinner, but I knew you had another commitment.

pictures do not do those guys justice at all. the only complaint i had about the entire show was the lighting. the animals didnt have the pop that under those lights, but that's not really a complaint, but more of a blessing in disguise that kept me from spending a metric ton of money

My Bad

I totally missed this photo when I was uploading them to this thread. I never formally met Leslie (Hi Leslie...I'm Katie!!). My apologies!!!!

OK...here's Rob's dilute/blue stripe and his pied-sided bloodred.
Then a quick glance at Rich's remaining '05's. I never made it to any of the '06's. And the humans weren't the only things having some fun at Daytona. These 2 were going at it for a good 10 minutes while we were sort of stuck in the crowd. Sorry they didn't hold still long enough for a decent pic.

hey, im there too!! lol *dont forget me* :crazy02:

Did I get to meet you? Point yourself out to me in the photos....I was having a hard time keeping everyone straight after a while!

I also took a couple of pics of Kathy, Bill, Chuck and Connie. However, they are taken on the sly and aren't as good as those taken by Katie. But I do have one of Chuck that may be worthy of blackmail. Do I dare post it in the Insiders Forum?

And I also received quite a few snakes from Connie that are simply amazing! I won't take any pics of all of my new additions until tomorrow at the earliest...and then it'll be a quick session with them all.
