This is ridiculous.

Personally, I don't like the shirts designs or the sayings. Maybe Dean does. Maybe Russell does. Maybe Brent does.

But you know what, this is what makes the country so great. If you like it, you buy it. If you don't---don't buy it and shut up.

Good god, it's becoming kindergarten like around here lately.

Can I have a corn snake t-shirt even though I won't be attending?! IE order it and have the lovely kind Stephanie send it out when I'm in the states in June? (saves on international shipping)

Yup, anyone that wants a shirt is welcome to them. :) Just email/pm me what size, what color & whether or not you want your name or handle on the shirt. :)

Yeah, I suppose these days you'd have to say "I <3 Cornsnakes"

Elle, I think they want it to say "Daytona" so it is commemorative.

International shipping isn't that much. There's a fixed rate big envelope (Global Priority) that's like $8. I have fit a T-shirt, two magazines and a small paperbook into one that size.

Nanci

I suppose so... I just thought it would be nice if the CS members had a t-shirt to recognise them by for all the shows they went to? Could be an idea to work on after this t-shirt is made :p

Ill have to go find out about shipping, Id like a t-shirt whether I'm there or not.

BTW Loving the <3 cornsnakes idea.

I don't get it... :shrugs:

(I'm serious, I don't...)

When you text message someone on a cell phone, <3 which looks like a sideways heart (with some imagination) means the same thing as a heart symbol, or love. The really confusing thing is now people instead of saying the whole acronym, such as I'm "laughing out loud" (LOL) they say the letters, "Ell oh ell." So I <3 Cornsnakes becomes I "less than three" Cornsnakes. I know all this at my advanced age from listening to a Podcast about it as a trend.

Oh, and if you want to be really cool, or whatever the word is these days, you have to write "srsly" instead of seriously!
:grin01:

Can we really do "I <3 Cornsnakes"? That'd be great. And if we want we can just put Daytona 2007 on the back - those involved in shows will know and if not they'll ask and you can go on and on about Daytona. Hehe...I heart cornsnakes...

I can't edit the polls here. :(

Maybe one of our super cool new mods could do it for me?! :)
Maybe if one of the super cool new mods shows up, they can give it a shot. ;) I failed miserably. I couldn't edit the poll part either. I've seen poll options edited on Fauna, so I'm sure it can be done here. But I don't know about the "vote editing" part of your request. I'll have to ask Rich about both items.

Sorry I couldn't be of much help. :( I think that starting a new poll thread is a good idea anyway...

AND maybe you even had to hear it 3rd or 4th person . . . ??

I see quite a few people disiring an option in the first person. So if the third and fourth person is offensive, just ignore it. Obviously there seems to be no problem denying the first person requests so why would 3rd and 4th be a problem?
I don't think constructive criticism given to those who ask for it is a terrible thing. When I ask for ideas, this means I want them no matter if it's in the first, second, or third person. And when people take the time to give me the opinions I ask for, I certainly don't thank that with a negative response to the suggestions.... even if I don't like them.

Besides the vetoed name, I think "Annual Cornsnake Dinner" is the next best thing.

I think there is a lot of people trying to demonize the Source here. When really if you omitted all reference to the Source and people who reside there, it wouldn't change the direction of this thread at all. There would still be "Cornsnake.com" people asking for the original name to be considered and it would still be shot down and they would still be a little disappointed in that. The only thing that would be missing is silly attacks and attempts to blame the direction of this thread on others. These attacks ruined the thread and feel of it much more than suggestions for the original name ever could.

OK, my brain just asploded on this one....it's probably too big in scope for this year, but I think it would be a kicky design for next time around.

Outside of the herp show and Spring Break, what else is Daytona known for?

The Daytona 500.

What do NASCAR drivers wear?

Just about any advertisement they can fit on their fireproof suits.

So, we take all the banner logos from any corn breeder willing to participate and create a T-shirt from that, include a larger block of type signifying the commemorative year and venue, and, if feasible, your name/handle.

I realize that it's more mental than sentimental (no hearts), but I think it'd be a hoot.....and I'm NOT a Nascar fan.

I believe (actually I know) some of the people at the 2006 supper patronize both sites. I don't see how the suggestion of last year's informal name for the dinner party got turned into a political arguement- I don't think that was the intention. I'm really not into CS.com vs The Source politics. I appreciate different things about both places. You don't _have to_ pick sides if you don't want to. Can't we just leave forum affiliation arguments out of a conversation for once???

You've gotta be joking!! BIKE WEEK!!!!!!!!! Biketoberfest!!!!! Both huge national events.

I think that's what is already in the works for the back of the shirt.

No, but there was an offhand comment made regarding attendance at Daytona/Supper maybe being necessary to make the shirt . . . can't quite recall where I had seen it . . . :shrugs: Maybe I read too much into it when I had read it.
I think you did miss the point. Having attended is not a prerequisite. However, if I was going to make a T-Shirt commemorating an event that I had never been to... I'd make sure I did my research to find out if the event already had a name instead of renaming it to suit my tastes because I made the T-Shirt.

Wish I could rep you for this one, but as Craig says "I haven't spread myself around enough". I couldn't have said it better - thank you Nanci!!!!!

This is a pretty cool idea. Maybe the acronym of the chosen "dinner club" name, or the entire name could be written in the NASCAR logo font. The checkered-flag motif could be done with Okeetee ventrals...

Or maybe I gotta lay off the Peyote, as Reese Bobby might say. ;) Walking around in public in Daytona while infringing (or at least encroaching) on NASCAR trademarks may not be such a great idea...

D'OH!!!! You'd think a guy who was a camp counselor to one of the Davidson kids would've remembered that one.

Thanks for the heads up on the logo placement as well.

Thanks for trying, Dean! :) I'll just make another poll. :)

Exactly. :uhoh: If I wasn't afraid of getting my butt sued, it would be really cool! Let me attempt to contact NASCAR and see what kind of reply I get about it before I do it. It may take several weeks for them to get back to me, so I'll go ahead and make the image up and put it with the others in the poll. :)

I knew about the name. I didn't like it and I stated my reasoning in a post a couple up.
