Ok, this one's for text & shirt color.

Multiple votes permitted! :)

Edit:

I made the decision to allow preordered shirts have the choice of white/grey/black. The bulk shirts will be in white. The below quote shows what I said in the other thread. Note that these prices are without sponsors and only 50 shirts ordered. More shirts equals lower price! I will need anyone interested in these shirts to email me ([email protected]) with size, color & whether or not they want there name on the shirt.

The text in the poll are the choices available (not including place/date).

Soooooooo...I've been researching shirt options...And I think I'm going to go with 100% Cotton Hanes Tagless T's, 1 color front, 1 color back. At this time, it puts the T-Shirts at $9.50 a pop (for any color) plus $4.50 for those who wish to have there name on the back (I'm just having the printer do the custom names). I can get XXL for those who want them. The bulk extras I'm just going to get in white.

hmmm...I like none of the above. I guess I did a bit of research the original name to this even was The Cornsnake Supper Club. I figure that's as catchy as your going to get. And I agree with others it should be on a light color, but not white. So I go for gray or light blue. And then have a couple snakes sitting around a table in bibs, with mice on their plates, and that one of the corns is an Okeetee.

sounds complex don't it? So I'm picky, what can I say?

Russell, could you pretty please either remove the picture you posted or decrease it's size...It's throwing this page off and I'm having problems adding/editing. Thanks! :)

Yes sir - that was the original name given to the dinner GTG last year. I have spoken to the originators of the name and they are fine with it being used for t-shirts this year if people express an interest in it.

Light gray sounds good to me. I like Russell's idea about the corns with bibs. I was actually talking to Lara last night and I told her I'd like to see a recreation of the last supper painting... but with corns. Of course I don't think everyone would see the humor in it.

Oh man! that is SO funny, cause I though the same exact thing!

this just shows that great minds think alike and hey, I think we should go for it...but then I suppose there might be some offended somehow, I mean, who would be portrayed as Jesus? Yeah, might want to stay away from that, but it was a funny thought!

Yes... some may say that is sacrilegious. :sidestep:

Your pic got me thinking Russell. A title and a nice pic of a corn on the front would be really nice... and nothing says cornsnakes like a real nice Okeetee.

Yay, grey!!!!!!!!!!!! I like Cornsnake Supper Club, too. I also think that a cornsnake last supper would be funny- but am sure that Stef has a really cool graphic up her sleeve, no matter what she decides.

I like Cornsnake Supper Club, too.
I hate to ask Stephanie to do any more as she is already busting butt on this, but we have had a few people here and a few on the Source mention this name. I really think it should be in the poll as it is generating support even not being on the poll already.

I'm sorry, but I can't stand that name. I will not be adding that to the list. I however would go with something along the lines of "2007 Annual Cornsnake Dinner" or "2007 Daytona Beach Cornsnake Dinner" if that is liked.

I too have heard from many people privately about this whole thing, and in fact this post in particular has raised hackles in a few. I want this to be as smooth as possible, but already I'm hearing things privately. I am not complaining about the private emails/pms, but this is supposed to be FUN...Let's please, please keep it that way.

While "the last supper" would be amusing, I would prefer (and others have voiced this as well) for this particular event, a professional looking shirt.

I agree.

Honestly, I have to say that is a little unfair. Just because you do not like the name should not be enough reason to exclude it as an option if others who are voting on the t-shirts express an interest in it. If this really is a community event then the community should be able to decide the wording, not one individual.

However, I personally would be fine with the "2007 Daytona Beach Cornsnake Dinner" as you suggested. To me that sounds just fine. I am also fine with other options already suggested in the poll (basically I am pretty easy to please!!). I will enjoy whatever t-shirt I get with whatever phrase, lettering, color etc...is decided on. I am just happy to be a part of the community and the dinner.

As Stephanie said - this is supposed to be FUN and I agree more with that sentiment than anything else!!

:bang:Wow! Ok then. I kind of like "The Cornsnake Supper Club" personally. If that had been an option I would have voted for it.

I agree with this too... amusing. :)

I like grey...grey is a good compromise. And as long as we have something about 2007 and cornsnakes on the shirt it will work. In most cases the simpler the better (less for everyone to be picky about). Thanks for doing this!

When I read those words, the song "Redneck Yacht Club" pops into my mind. But not in an annoying way.

I just want a cool picture- I don't care about the rest.

I find it disappointing that you(AA) have to run go-between concerning the whole thing . . . Can't adults come together to make a decision?

I find some of the negative comments that have been made pretty disheartening since all Stef is trying to do is create a T-shirt for those people attending Daytona and wanting to have supper together. Please, by all means, correct me if I'm wrong and reading too much into some of the statements that have been made elsewhere. :shrugs:

I will most likely not be able to get to Daytona this year, but am always planning to find a way whether this year or next. Does that mean I can't comment or vote on the T-shirt? Personally I applaud Stef for stepping up to the plate on this, and worst case, I'll at least look forward to seeing pictures in August!

I think that is what we are trying to do by making suggestions and having polls. As adults we are all adding our opinions and input into what this shirt should look like.
We may not all agree, but that is what a democracy is about, right? Getting the chance to vote on the ideas presented? I think there is some disappointment that an idea that a few people like is getting vetoed without allowing people to vote on it.

I am sorry if you think that I am running go-between. I am just replying to what I am reading both here and on the Source. I do not intend to offend anyone or step on toes anywhere. Some people only visit one site or the other and I am trying to make sure the information is available to everyone since we will have members from both sites at the dinner.

I also believe Stephanie has been doing a great service for all of us by getting the t-shirt idea off the ground, starting the polls, designing etc....
I think there are some people disappointed by some things that have been suggested/discussed, but in the long run, at least IMHO, I think everyone is just happy with the idea that there is going to be a t-shirt to commemorate the event. Maybe I am wrong, who knows? The words on the shirt are just words. It is the sentiment behind it that I believe is what is really important.

Does that mean I can't comment or vote on the T-shirt?
I don't recall seeing anywhere in any thread where it was stated that voting on the shirt was only for people attending Daytona or buying a shirt.

AA, let me first say that I'm not trying to attack you, nor am I negatively judging your attempts to get both 'sides' together on this. BUT, I do realize I wasn't blunt enough in my first message. What I meant by "adults coming together" was that I/we have been told in no uncertain terms that if I/we want to stay appraised of certain discussions, concerning certain topics, then I/we must go to a different web site to follow that information. Interestingly enough, I do choose to frequent that location in order to stay up to date on said information. BUT, here we have a situation where a member of this site is doing something grand (I agree 100% with your kudos to Stef), but YOU are "forced" to run go-between because "the originators of the name" (so to speak) choose NOT to come here to discuss it . . . THAT's not a """community""" of corn snake keepers which is what the T-shirt is supposed to represent . . . ??

No, but there was an offhand comment made regarding attendance at Daytona/Supper maybe being necessary to make the shirt . . . can't quite recall where I had seen it . . . :shrugs: Maybe I read too much into it when I had read it. No harm, no foul.

Stick with it Stef, and whatever you come up with, people will choose to buy or not choose to buy. :shrugs: And, of course, if they don't like what you eventually come up with, they can always make their own! :grin01: . . . then we'll see how much of a corn snake community we truly still have!
