Eco Earth?

Has anyone had any problems with it? I bought myself a pack of compressed bricks, and I was a bit worried at how fine it is. I've never used anything but newspaper before, so, thoughts?
Autumn seems to love it, though. I gave her a few inches to dig/burrow in and she has little paths and tunnels all through it... :)

I second this question. Personally I couldn't use the eco earth because I just could not get it to dry out after de-bricking it. Dry as the atmosphere was around here in the winter, it's just too cold for anything to evaporate. Should be perfect for summer though. I also found it rather annoying to clean up, since it was too fine to pick up by hand; sure it vacuumed up fine, but it was annoying to get the vacuum out (I am a lazy person).

I use it for both my BPs and my corn snake since our winters are so dry. My corn snake loves to burrow down in it. What I did to dry it though was ring out as much water as I could, then I put it on cookie sheets and put it in the oven at 450f for like 15 or 20 mins, take it out stir it up then put it back in for another 15 minutes or so. after that I let it sit on the counter to cool down. Mean while I kept stirring it every few minutes because of all the steam coming off it was also helping take the moisture out. I also have to vacuum it out, but that doesnt bother me because I always end up vacuuming out my cages and wiping them down before putting in new substrate.

All 3 of my snakes like it, my female bp and my corn snake love to burrow down in there vivs. I also feed my snakes in a 10 gallon fish tank so they arnt ingesting any of the eco earth with the mouse/rat. If your not living in a dry climate though it would problubly be easier just to use Aspen.

That's a good idea with the oven and the vacuuming. I will do that once I have my own oven lol. Somehow I doubt the parents would be thrilled, even though the snakes haven't touched it yet.

Do you think a vacuum could handle 8 quarts of aspen shaving?
