Came home from the pet store with mice for feeding to be greeted with this:

set

Mom is a sunglow motley, dad is a cube stripe.

Oh forgot to mention they're both het for caramel, babies should be:

25%: motley caramel het amel, stripe
75%: motley het amel, stripe 66% poss het caramel

OOOhhh, that's an exciting clutch!! congrats on the eggs! Mama is beautiful!!! I can't wait to see those babies....

hmmm those eggs look like they might be slugs? Its hard to tell from that pic but they seem pretty wet and the color is slightly off. I could be wrong though, maybe they just haven't expanded yet. Be sure to post some full clutch pics!

going back and taking a closer look...they do remind one of brown chicken eggs???? May be the light.

:(

I'll take another picture after I transfer them. I too hope they're viable. It's the first time she's been mated and I only let them pair once. I'll be disappointed, I'm trying for a caramel.

Are the eggs "White"??? Or are they an off color?? Once you have them in the incubator and settled in...take a small pen light...with the lights out...and shine it at the sides of the eggs...if it has a red/pink glow it may be viable. if it glows white or clear...probably not good. this isn't a guarantee...but i've heard that if the egg glows red/pink...it's a good egg (fertilized).

Wow, 18 eggs.

And you're right, they don't look very good. Blame me, I timed the pairing really poorly. (yeah, yeah, I know, yell at me :( )

I wasn't even planning on mating them but I was handling Phoenix and Ember was just going crazy trying to get out of his cage. So on impulse, I put her in with him and I kid you not, it took them all of 5 seconds to lock. They were doing their thing and it looked like it was working out okay.

But about an hour after I put her back in her cage, she passed feces. My thought was damn, she just pooed out all that sperm.

Then she got gravid, and I thought well maybe all was good.

Here are the eggs and a picture I took of her a few minutes ago, she's resting quietly.

Unfortunately I think those are all slugs :( The female is beautiful. Take care of her and try again next year.

Those definitely look entirely like slugs.

Here's Tor with her 100% fertile clutch. See how white and 'marshmallow'-y the eggs are?

Thanks, here's the male. Even tho he's het for caramel, you can see the caramel coloration comes out strongly in him. They both came from South Mountain Reptiles.

Phoenix dropped one more slug today, that brings the count to 19. All she's doing is laying around and sleeping.

But she wolfed down a pinkie like there was no tomorrow and took a long drink of water, so she's fine. Still in some discomfort I think, but improving.

Thats a shame about the eggs :( that happened to my last year because Prince was a first timer and the year before because I didnt time it right either :p
