Elliot the Cal King - progression thread

I decided to name the new guy (talked about here), Elliot! Sherlock is my other Cal King, and I tossed names around in my head for about a week until hearing the name Elliot a few times and being reminded of watching Law and Order SVU, and Elliot was my favorite character; a detective. It seemed fitting!

I weighed him before feeding him and he was 21.1 grams. He had only eaten live pinkies before, so I was a little worried about him taking f/t, but he ate just fine. I held him today for the first time after his first meal with me, and he musked a bit, was a little jumpy at first, but then calmed down pretty nicely.

Thank you! I love my little guys. One of my kids asked me today who my favorite was, and I couldn't answer at all. They are all really cool in their own way! That said, Elliot fulfills an itch I've had for awhile to get a black and white banded Cal king!

I was going through pictures just now, looking for "Dude", the Cal king that stole Maria's heart (she's 5-1/2) at a Herps Alive reptile event this past June. I'll attach a few pics. Elliot looks a lot like this snake, right down to the little white spot on top of the head. I can't wait to show Maria this in the morning.
